This place is absolutely amazingthe property has everything for you need to unwind, relax and just enjoy the peace and quite. What sets this place apart however is the staff from Wayne the owner to Amitash the manager, Joe the Activities Co-ordinator to Ben the Chef, Tina the housekeeper and Lagi the massage therapist all these people played a huge part of my holiday because they went beyond and above. I'll definitely be back because I believe there will never be another place that could possibly meet such outstanding service.

The staff is amazing and is the biggest reason to come here. They go out of their way to make the stay as pleasant as possible! Thank you.
BUT. there are a few reasons which would prevent me from returning:
1. It’s very remote and if you like to explore the area and want to see Fiji this is not the place. The staff does not recommend to leave by yourself and they say there is no place to eat (even though there is a place 500m east, near the gas station and another excellent local restaurant 1km west - “He-ni Uwa”)
2. The restaurant is overpriced! 45$/65$ for most meals which are small (breakfast costs half across the street at a hotel near the gas station). The price is double than at other hotels and tourist restaurants! The menu does not have many availabilities and almost no vegetarian choices. they charge 9$ for a 1.5l water bottle! (The same brand is 4$ in other restaurants, and I’m sure they make a profit there too).
3. The beach is not very accessible as there are many stone corals close and you cannot swim easily. The kayaks offered are not in a good condition and not comfortable for more than 15 min. Also snorkeling is not impressive in the near area.
4. Some maintenance problems we had: A shower head that was so old we could not shower- it got replaced after we asked. The sink does not drain - we didn’t bother to say anything because we didn’t want maintenance personnel around our room constantly. Don’t expect western standards
Above this all what annoyed me the most was that when emailing the resort prior to arriving about how we can travel there from Nandi we got a ridiculous offer of 190$ taxi (one way), or a 280$ for a 4WD as “the roads in Fiji are in a bad condition”. after mailing back that we would like to know how to arrive by bus we got no answer at all.
we ended up paying 7$ p.p. For a bus that dropped us at the exact entrance!
And for the roads (at least the southern “queen road” ) it is in a perfect condition. Even renting a car for self driving is no problem.response / report this review -

Excellent peaceful boutique hotel well worth the long drive from Nadi.
Friendly staff, delicious food and good snorkeling from the beach.

Spend here three nights during our round-the-world honey moon.
Restaurant provides low value for money. Compared to other hotels and tourist restaurants food is over priced, small and not very tasty. (Price between 28$-45$-65$). They charge 9$ for 1.5l water, double from all other places we visited, triple from supermarket across the road.
Room was nice, but low maintenance. They don’t pay attention to details when it comes to housekeeping or facilities of the washroom.(don’t clean well and don’t replace soap& shampoo daily).
The bed is high quality but our bed sheets smelled a bit.
The room is dark during day and night. Very little lights (romantic but not practical).
Beach is inside a reef so very low and lots of stones, not really for swimming.
Pool is nice.
Nothing around in walking distance. We took local busses to explore other areas and eat out.
Staff is really welcoming and hard working, but we had the impression they did not love the fact we didn’t eat in the restaurant a lot, and that we were on our own.
When you come to a nine room hotel, everyone is kind of watching your every move, asking where your going, checking in advance if we’d like to order food and etc.
Overall, you can spend the same money for a much better located, well maintained hotel in Denarau area.response / report this review -

We stayed for 7 nights at Maui Palms from Feb 12-19. This trip was hands down the best experience we have ever had accommodation and customer service wise. It was our first to Fiji and we will certainly being returning to Maui Palms in the future.
The grounds are very well kept, the scenery amazing, the rooms well equipped and comfortable, and the food was incredible. All of those things would have made this place perfect, however the staff at Maui Palms goes above and beyond to make your stay everything you could want and more. While we were there we had 6 staff that handled all the villas and resturaunt, the personal touch each of them have makes you feel at home. The staff all work together so well and all help out where needed. Neel was the first to great us and show us around, throughout our stay he was very kind and accommodating. Tina, Lagi, and Eleanor were delightful to talk to and made sure our rooms were kept clean and that we had everything we needed in our rooms. Ben was a fantastic chef, having studied in culinary at Suva for 3 years, he made us a special dinner one night. Ben also took us out snorkeling to show us the best places to go, he was great. The highlight of the staff for us was Joe, there wasn’t anything at Maui Palms that Joe didn’t help with. He was available every day we were there and would go out of his way to show us something, he didn’t want us to miss out on anything during our stay. Joe also set up a romantic dinner our last night, we didn’t ask, he just wanted to do it. If you stay at Maui Palms you will have a great experience, Joe will make it happen, he is a genuine and wonderful human being.
We loved all the food we had and tried to hit most everything on the menu, there was not one item that we didn’t love. The prices were fair especially for the quality, we found the price comparable to an average evening out in the states.
We had a wonderful time at Maui Palms and will be returning hopefully soon. Again thank you to Neel, Ben, Joe, Tina, Lagi, and Eleanor.

Perfect location! Unfortunately rooms were in poor state. A.C not working properly etc etc. Not worth the $400 a night I paid for it! Felt overly overpriced

My partner and I stayed for 4 nights and the experience was amazing.
The staff were very friendly and accomodative and we got more than what we had paid for.

Lovely quiet environment. Friendly staff, who went out of their way to look after us, helpful management. Great rooms especially villas on sea side. Felt like we were personal guests of staff and management.

Our 5 day stay in Maui palms was exceptional !! Fair to say it was the best customer service I think we have ever received !
Nothing was too much trouble for Muni,Joel,Monji and the ladies !
Each staff member made the effort daily to come and have a chat with us and they all remembered our names .
They provided a real personal touch and we absolutely loved it!!! Highly recommended !! Great location ,superb food ,clean ,beautiful rooms and wonderful staff .look forward to returning 😀😀response / report this review -

These guy's are wonderful, so friendly and accomodating. Beautiful and well appointed Villas all surrounding the pool and a few steps down onto the beach. The food is incredible and far surpassed our expectations. You can have your meals served on your terrace catching the sea breezes or in the dining room. They will even set a table on the sand for those more Romantic types (we passed on that offer). It's a short bus ride to the Sigatoka township which is quite an eye opener. The Markets there are an experience. The Maui Palms Resort is small and has a really exclusive and quality feel about it. Sitting by the pool with a Pina Colada and a plate of freshly cut local tropical fruit a balmy 31 degrees centigrade but this feels comfortable as there is a wonderful lite breeze. I never imagined I would be the type to enjoy a beach holiday, but after splashing in the reef lagoon and seeing beautiful blue starfish and a hoard of Dory and Nemo fish all in all my stay here was delightful. We stayed 6 nights and found this was an ideal amount of time. There is a bus that takes you to the Resort for around $10FJD or you can book a 4WD direct to and from the resort to Nadi airport which is expensive but comfortable.
