Good place to stay in the city, not so far from the city center. Big, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and good prices. I recommend it.
Very reasonable prices for a single room, which is actually a studio with a kitchen with sink, fridge, stove and oven, plus the ensuite bathroom, something that you not always will find in a hostel. They could do housekeeping in shorter periods of time but nothing that really bothered me. All in all, good value for money.
Comfortable stay in Helsinki. Easy booking of private rooms with washroom. Good wifi in the room.
As you coukd tell from its name, It is not a hostel indeed. It is a university dormitory which they give their free beds to travelers during holiday season. A university complex with different dormitory buildings. I had vooked a triple room (without bunk beds and I liked it) but my roomates were bith students (which is not very pleasing for me when I'm staying in a hostel). Although the room was clean and hostel location was also good, I cannot unaccount the price which was too expensive! EUR 46 per night for a hostel is really high!
Very basic but reasonably clean and spacious hostel room. It had a kitchenette (the kitchen utensils were provided in the common area where every guest could pick them up from and return after use) and a wet room type of bathroom. Towels were provided but there was no shower gel or soap.
The reception was open 24 hours, I believe, the staff was friendly and efficient. Some toiletries and snacks were available to purchase there.
There was a buffet/cafe downstairs which offers an option of breakfast and lunch menu.
Nice spacious rooms with a private kitchen and bathroom. Friendly staff and useful commodities like a PC and laundry.
A great Hostel! I stayed here while doing a study abroad for 3 weeks in Finland. It is generally clean and has a sauna available for those staying here. The toughest part is that the rooms that face Hietaniemenkatu (in building D) face a bar, which gets very wild at night. If you are a light sleeper request a different building.
Very good and only walking distance from Helsinki city center and central station. Its clean and safe.
The rooms are nice, with all you need too live even for a long time here (I've lived here as Erasmus student for 1 year).
There is the common laundry in a building next to this and also a sauna for the tenant and the common kitchen.
When I was Erasmus there was also a party room that is managed by a committee formed by Erasmus students and funded by Student Union, I don't know if this still exist.
This place is relatively close to Kamppi and to the center, also there are some interesting pubs even closer.
The price for me was quite cheap considering the zone and I could not give this place less than 5 stars.
Pretty average hostel. Staff was very helpful and everything was clean and up to date. Room had it all. I mean even a kitchenette.
Room was in an awkward closet like corridor, not very social, location was good for some things, hard for others.
Great place to sleep and use as a home base. Nothing exciting.
Great compared to the price. Located in the heart of the city. Clean room. Serves breakfast. WiFi is accessible only in the lobby which is small. Bring your own Ethernet cable or rent one with 3€ for entire stay to get a good Internet connection in the room.
Hotel Academia is really good , cause it is not expensive and it are clean rooms. There is one room on the first floor where you can take for free some food, relaxing yourself and have internet. There is a sauna but i did not come in. In your room you have a kitchen, shower and some wardrobes.
