Beautiful Cathedral in the central parts of Helsinki. The stairs in front of the Cathedral are usually crowded with tourist, sitting or standing around to relax a bit. The cathedral can be visited for free.

Impressive Lutheran church dominating the view on Helsinki's city center. The interior is as simplistic as you would expect from a Lutheran church, but with clear and strict forms. Huge flight of stairs leading up to the entrance from the Senate Square. Great view on the city from the entrance.

A beautiful Lutheran cathedral, simply decorated. Stunning against a blue sky. Centres the panorama from the harbour

One of the nicer churches in the nordics. Impressivly built with white marble or stone sitting on top of a hill. Hosting your wedding here is actually not as expensive as you would think.

This is far better than the other cathedral in Helsinki, the name of which I forget but it is red brick with a green roof! If you have time for only one church, let it be this one.

Step this way for a rollercoaster ride through Finnish Evangelical Lutheran history. If that's your gig then this is your venue. Rock with the God in this temple of madness. Lack of roof access is an undeniable catastrophe of biblical proportions, the view would've been better than average. 5/7

The cathedral and square are a lovely location for photos and to admire the surrounding Finnish architecture.
True to Lutheran/Protestant style, despite its size, the cathedral is hardly ornate compared to a comparative catholic equivalent. This emphasises the church as a place of worship and for each parishioner to make their own connection with the almighty. As one of the highest points in the city, it also provides a nice, sweeping view of the surrounds
