Jewel of India is one of the best Indian Restaurants in Addis, with dishes very close to the Indian actual dish I know in India.

I always have it to go. I love the food but it took them to long to get it and when it was ready nobody knew it was ready. Luckily for me i was busy on my phone

They should not call themselves indian. Place was full of mosquitoes and food was anything but indian. 0 stars.

Staff are friendly, but food is average. I came here because it was open late and closed to my hotel. Hot water for the tea was dirty.

Ambience reasonable, food quality is average. Cant say if the food tastes authentic. Maybe a place to go for Indian dals and curries but I wouldn't recommend the rice items. Felt the Ethiopian restaurants serve better vegetable rice!
The bad thing about the restaurant though is the hidden charges. Of all the places I went to in Addis, this is the only place that added Service Charge and other taxes to the tune of 25% of the bill!

While the place was lovely, offering a really great atmosphere and not being too off the beaten path, I did find the food to be on the salty side. The prices are quite reasonable, as are the portions and selection. I found the staff to be attentive and genuine, offering their opinions and suggestions when asked. I ended up sharing the pollock paneer and chicken tikka masala, both with the perfect consistency and level of spice. I also had the garlic naan, which arrived prodigiously smaller than expected; a bit disappointing. Ordered the masala chai that could have been a little stronger and hotter upon arrival. Additionally, the mains don't come with rice, as such we had the fried vegetable rice, which while good, I felt that it didn't pair well with the gravies. I would recommend ordering plain rice. Overall very good and highly recommended, but as I said before, a little salty.
