Butajira Hospital is located 130 km south of the capital Addis Ababa and 50 km to the west of Zeway town in the Rift Valley. It is located in the Gurage Zone of the SNNPR, the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region, one of the nine ethnic divisions of Ethiopia.
The hospital provides clinical services for the town of Butajira and its surrounding communities, serving approximately 1,300,000 people. Health services include: Emergency, Gynecology/Obstetrics, Surgery, Antenatal Care and Family Planning, Pediatrics (including a malnutrition program), a TBC Unit, Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) and Dental Care.
Butajira Hospital has the objective to provide patients with the best medical care possible, using the Ethiopian Reform Health Implementation Guidelines (EHRIG) as leading principle. In 2013, the hospital was upgraded from a Zonal to a General Hospital.response / report this review
