  Lo más característico de esta iglesia, cuya construcción comenzó en 1548, es, sin duda, su esbelta torre de ladrillo, rematada por la figura dorada de "El Angelote". Del interior, cabe destacar el coro, así como los retablos de Santa María de la Esperanza y de la Virgen de la Antigua y el sepulcro de Rodrigo de Narváez, primer alcaide de la ciudad.

  De Lunes a Sábados de 8:30 a 13:00 h y de 18:00 a 20:00 h.
  Domingos y Festivos de 9:30 a 13:00 h y de 18:00 a 20:00 h.

  Church that you can see from everywhere . . .
  
  Whenever you are admiring a panoramic view of Antequera, you can almost certainly see the tower of the San Sebastian church. It is the most ornate - and I think the tallest - of the towers of the 28, yes 28, churches in the town. You are bound to have a photo of it somewhere among your pictures!
  
  At the very top sits the gilded weathervane called the Big Fat Angel - El Angelote.
  
  San Sebastian church is slap bang in the middle of Antequera, in the Plaza San Sebastian where we find Kilometre Zero, from where they measure all the distances to other towns. This Plaza, where the main street Calle Infante Don Fernando ends, is important in the life of the town in Holy Week as all the processions (except the one on Tuesday) go through here.
  
  The big procession for the San Sebastian Church is the Wednesday one, with the Cofradia del Mayor Dolor. The procession starts at 21.30 at night, and finishes at about 2 the next morning.
  
  Another interesting thing on this Wednesday is at lunchtime - 13.30 - when soldiers from the Spanish Foreign Legion carry the statues into the church, ready for that evening's procession. Well worth going to see that if you are in Antequera in Holy Week.
