Amazing architecture, such a huge church. There are good views of the church from upstairs as well.

Es armonía, proporción, ritmo, bella y bien decorada sin ser excesivo su ornato. No se cansa uno de admirarla tanto su interior como su fachada. Techos insuperables en sus tallados de figuras geométricas. Coro magnífico, capillas modestas y sobre todo sacristía y sala capitular excelsa. Una joya del renacimiento español y ejemplo de tantas y tantas catedrales latino-americanas.

Probably not well known as a cathedral. In fact nobody told us to stop by here, and we did as a pure coincidence.
The cathedral is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin and it's built in Renaissance-style.
Notable safe and caveaux in the basement with lots of ancient reliques.
Cathedral is quite nice, in comparison to the one of Granada, I much prefer this one.
Entrance is €5, which I hope they will be immediately reinvested into conservation considering the condition there cathedral verse (e.g. windows broken that let the rain in).response / report this review -
