I loved the Hotel Rector. It's chic, understated, quiet and not frou-frou! The staff couldn't have been more kind or helpful. The breakfast was delicious and generous. I liked the location - just outside the city wall opposite the beautiful Casa Lis. In the late afternoon it's nice to visit the Huerto de Calixto y Melibea garden, which overlooks the city wall and the Hotel Rector. We were sad to leave this lovely hotel.
Very clean and good rooms, amazing breakfast, would definitely stay again!

I travel a lot to many places world-wide and I have to say that this is very close to the top of my list of favorite hotels, anywhere. It is not a 5-star hotel because it does not meet certain requirements, like having a restaurant. The hotel is not in the middle of the historical center of Salamanca, but is very close to it. The rooms are spacious and quiet, with large bathrooms, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast is good, average for business-type hotels in Spain. But perhaps what I liked the best was the service and hospitality of the staff. I can't wait to stay there again.
What a wonderful hotel - we were beautifully looked after, from being advised where the best restaurants are, being greeted by name as we came down for breakfast, to having fresh bottles of water placed ready in our car for our departure.
Outstanding service, optimal relationship price/value! Highly recommended!
