The hotel itself is OK. The customer service is really incompetant. They are over staffed and everyone is standing around doing nothing. Also every time they do something for you they act as if they made you a favor.
For example, they messed up by checking me into a Kingbed room even though I requested a two single beds room. So the person who brought my luggage went to let the front desk know and to gey another room's key. And after that they acted as if they sid me a favor evwn rhough messed up.

Stayed at the Le Meridian Hotel in Heliopolis this past week for six nights. Hotel was very nice and the entire staff was wonderful. I highly recommend this Hotel when visiting Cairo. Close to the Airport and convienient place to visit many sites in Cairo. Did I mention how helful and friendly the entire staff is? Well they are the best. Also, very good security at the Hotel.

Worst hotel in the world.Careless reception staff with a very strange attitude towards gusts. Insulation of windows does not exist. If you are in a room facing the main street, you would hear every whisper outside. Beds are not comfortable at all. Poor food quality at breakfast. And the list is long.

Nothing of what you expect from a Starwood Hotel. To have bathroom cleaned i asked 3 times. Old room, not well clean. But the service is nice and the food really good.

Excellent location. Building is very nice but old and service is quiet basic and old. Needs some renovation.

There are like 5 restaurants of different cuisines. Food quality is good.

I know this hotel since 1988. it was never that bad as today. Careless reception staff with a very strange attitude towards gusts. Insulation of windows does not exist. If you are in a room facing the main street, you would hear every whisper outside. Beds are not comfortable at all. Poor food quality at breakfast. And the list is long.
As SPJ member I was not recognized or greeted as such for most of my stays. I have stayed at this hotel a lot of times and this definitely my last one.

How could anyone rate this as a five star hotel I have no idea. This has no comparisons to their other hotels globally. The breakfast was so-so, the staff were polite and reasonably helpful, but only to the point of sympathy, not action. The first night I had a pair of earphones either stolen or disposed of by housekeeping (they were left on a desk). The toilet seat was broken. The electrical fittings looked like they needed replacing 10 years ago. The lights in the room just stopped working. Overall, not really worth it. I will book another hotel next time.
