Very organized and clean museum. You can see a collection of locomotive models and their evolutivon: old to modern ones. You pay 50LE for entrance. It's worth it!

The Railway Museum was founded in 1933 and stands at the far end of the Ramsses Train Station. It houses some seven hundred exhibits, including full size trains and scale models, and includes the private trains of Muhammad Ali.

We are glad to make a spotlight on this Nice Historic Museum , On the 16th of September 1856 A.D Egypt inaugurated the first railway in Africa and in the East. It started at Alexandria to Kafr El-Zayat in September 1854 A.D , when Abass Helmy I , and he signed a contract with Robert Stephenson, on the 12th of June, 1851A.D. The contract asserted that the work should start in September of the same year and that Stephenson should be responsible for all the matters of the project.
The first railway route in Egypt was built in 1854 A.D, between Alexandria and Kafr Eassa, and it reached Cairo in 1856 A.D. I visited it under 5 Continents managements.response / report this review -

أكبر من ما كنت أتصور، به نماذج قطارات مصغرة ونماذج بالحجم الطبيعي ونماذج ميكانيكية وصور ونماذج محطات القطارات في مصر ونماذج كباري القطارات، ونموذج متحرك لنظام سكك حديد، ومعلومات تاريخية عن القطارات عامة وعن سكك حديد مصر.
