Just absolutely delicious! The medieval vibe will make you forget the century you are living in! After visiting this place and going out into the main square, felt like an "outlander" transported in time. Precious!

You never fail! Customer since -04 or 05. Great food, great wines, service and athmosphere. We have visited you about 8 to 9 times and have left satisfied every time. And when you order a rare beef, you get one!

    Pricepoint high.
Great atmosphere and wine selection. Food (we tried a salad, entrès and the Balthazar special sizzling steak) was decent but not near as good as could be expected from the price, and they did not apply the garlic theme in an interesting way.
Their assortment of pickled garlic I would rate as below that which you can buy in a jar at a supermarket. Too sharp garlic taste and too bland flavouring. The (under)cooked garlic bouquet was also too sharp without having the depth found in similar garlic preparations.

Staff were very helpful and the food was excellent. Both the garlic beer and garlic ice cream were a pleasant surprise and certainly recommended. The restaurant itself was nice with good views across the main square if sat near the window. Certainly one of the best restaurants we visited whilst in Tallinn.

It's like a hidden gem near Raekoja Square: there is this medieval vibe and rare privacy while you have the perfect view on the Old Town. The service is very classy and neat.

We ordered the lamb and Balthazar main dish, which both were excellent and worth the price. The garlic ice-cream was a bit too buttery for our tasting. Will recommend if you want to visit something out of the basic restaurant scene in Tallinn.

Prices higher than average for Tallinn, but totally worth it. The service was very good and the food was excellent. Better than an average Tallinn restaurant. As a local something I always notice about Balthasar is how they have profesional experienced waiters (unlike most places in the centre that have new staff every year).

Service was very good, but food not. Odd 80´s style serving with very hot stone plate where all food was were ruined meet totally. Everything else have no taste at all. All was hot hot and have no seasoning at all. Totally big mistake and expensive one.

Very good food, and it is not only about the garlic. Prices fit the quality of the food, but maybe for the budget traveller slightly expensive.

Exiting flavours, perfectly balanced in every course, from starter to dessert. The reccomended menu is really good.

Food was great and reasonable priced, restaurant is in an old house with lots of different rooms that have old wooden floors. Great atmosphere!

Very reasonable prices for the location (right on the most popular square of the Old Town), quite good service as well. We expected a bit more garlic-ness in the menu -- 90% of the garlic meals are in the meat & poultry courses section, much less garlic within appetizers and other sections.

    Definitely try the garlic ice cream -- it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience :)
