A basic affordable hostel, but run by one of the nicest families we came across in six months travelling around South America. They gave us lots of advice, assistance and recommendations for things to do in the area. Really recommend it.

I enjoyed my stay at this great hostel! Due to the staff, you feel more at home than at a hostel. Great community spaces and activities. Very good advice for activities in Tena and the region!

Great little hostel in Tena. The owners are happy to help point you in the right direction for adventures around Tena. We visited the waterfall they suggested (for $1.50 entry fee) and we had it to ourselves! We also saw the 400year old tree which was breathtaking and stopped by a near by town where a troop of monkeys played and one hopped into my lap as I sat (he just wanted a comfy seat and my lap was it, no harm done:)
The room came with fresh towels & soap (no hot water), motorcycle parking (which is a must for us), daily room cleaning, with common areas for cooking, dining, chilling or yoga. You’re welcome to cook but they also make breakfast for $3. No laundry for guest use unfortunately. Affordable place close to city center in this beautiful jungle.

Great hostel for those who wants do enjoy Tena. Close to city center but also quite. The owners are lovely people who are very helpful and might even take you on a family trip. Can highly recommend

I really loved my stay here! The owners Pablo and Marcia were super nice and helpful at all times, rooms are ok as well. There is an awesome terrace for those lazy afternoons.. And for a little gasoline money Pablo drove us to some pretty nice places and showed us around. In the evening we had a big BBQ with everyone. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic time in Tena!

Wonderful staff! Not the greatest hostel, though. The actual accommodations themselves were a little below average, but not bad. Appropriate for the price. The staff were the the absolute best, however! Very friendly and accommodating. Willing to get up at 4:00 in the morning to help us check out.

What truly makes this hostel magical are the owners Pablo and Marcia. I arrived in Tena with no plans and with the start of a fever/diahrrea. Marcia and Pablo helped me find activities and even took their car to the pharmacy to deliver medicine for me, make me tea, and ensure I turned out okay. I sat down and talked with them all night, talking about their experience as hostel owners, chatted with their daugther, and we shared some fun stories. On my last full day, Pablo had called numerous agencies the night before to see if they had any last minute reservations for rafting since that is the activity I wanted to do. He finally booked something at 11PM at night. The next morning, Marcia dropped me off at the agency and ensured I found my guide. I would say they want above and beyond, but it really just seemed like they were being their normals selves, loving caring, and treating all their guests like family.

A hidden place in the centre of Tena with a lovely & unique atmosphere. The owners Marcia & Pablo are really great people and I did really enjoyed my stay!

To find again a dorm with 3 beds in a very clean room with a private bathroom for 10 usd per person, will be hard to find in Ecuador. Breakfast is a must in this hostel !!! as well as the empanadas de queso next door. Keep it like this guys!!!

I have stayed in many hostels and the hospitality and warm-heartedness of Marcia and Pablo is simply amazing! We stayed 3 nights with them. From the beginning my sister and I felt like a part of the family, Pablo took us to see a turtle farm, went to the jungle with us where he explained alot about the local plants and animals and also offered us bikes to rent so we could make a tour in the area. Absolutely great. I really recommend it, don't go to any other hostel in Tena.

Marcia and Pablo are amazing hosts, they treat you like family. Rooms are clean and comfy. Its close to the bus station and shops.

This hostel is awesome. The man who runs it is such a nice guy. He makes sure you´re comfortable, that the beds are all organized, that you have a towel, and everything else. Even after check out time my friend and I were still able to shower and I got a banana and coffee. He recommended a great rafting place, and convinced the tour guide to lower the price (because we literally only had enough for that and a ticket home). The rooms are clean, big, beds are great. Highly Highly recommend staying here if you come to Tena

Great hostel located conveniently near the Bus Terminal, supermarkets and Laundromat. Pablo and his family are very nice and accomadating, and offered numerous activities to do. Rooms were very spacious with comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again for my next trip.

I arrived at Zumag Sisa unable to walk. I had sprained my ankle the previous day and had no crutches. The moment I got out of the van, Pablo and Marcia were at my service. Marcia happened to have crutches that she loaned me and Pablo insisted on taking me to the hospital across the street, even though I had gone the day before. I ended up getting a cast on my foot and Pablo helped me through the whole process. While I waited for my friends to arrive, they made me feel comfortable and brought me anything I needed. I stayed for five days and never felt like my injury imposed on them in anyway - they were happy to take care of me and I am so grateful for their generosity.

Pablo took us on some tours of the area including to his father's home where they run a personal turtle rescue, a giant 400-year-old tree, and a swimming hole where he helped me walk down step by tiny step. He arranged a white water rafting trip for my friends and was at our service whenever we needed anything.

Pablo and Marcia have huge hearts and are kind, loving people. We felt like family during our stay and they are some of the best hosts that we have ever met during our travels.
