Great little resort. Excellent restaurant attached. Clean, safe and quiet. Right on the beach. Staff is very nice. Fantastic breakfast included.
Food and service was great. Live music and sitting ocean side and watching the sunset is priceless.
I just stopped by here for a drink but I was able to relax here too in the comfortable bungalows.
I loved this place because it offers reaaaally good drinks at a reasonable price and variety of food. And also you can appreciate the view of Montañita in a very unique way!
One of the nicest hotels I ever stayed! Right on the beach. Very clean, very looked after. Has very nice restaurant on premises! Good breakfast ..lots of choice!
We loved it here. Great location, close enough to the action but far enough away to avoid all of the mayhem. Rooms were smallish but comfortable and so close to the beach. Friendly staff, most spoke English.
Beachfront hostel surrounded by palm trees. Quiet location and only two minute walk from the main village. You can buy drinks on property and breakfast is served daily. They also have a slack line
This place is great! Just a 5 minute stroll in the beach to town for dinner and party. But I far enough to be quiet. Breakfast is stellar.
Lovely place right on the beach. The staff was amazing. Loved the longosta dish at lidos restaurant. Great experience
This place is clean and nice. Looks really cool, much different than other hotels I have stayed in. The staff is friendly and helpful. The air conditioner works well. However, the bed and pillows are not comfortable. There are also these small openings with screens on them which allows all the outside noise to come into the room and you can here insects, cars, people talking and pretty much everything going on outside. I did not have a good night's sleep here. If you are into electronics, the wifi does not work too well and there is no TV the room.
The place itself is nice, the rooms kept clean, cook areas well kept and it has a wonderful restaurant where you can hang out at night. However there's a few reasons why I gave it 3 stars. Although breakfast is nice, be warned that there's a lot of bees and wasps that will be pestering you the entire meal, instead of a pleasant experience that I like forward I dreaded it because of the insects. Most of the staff was super nice but one night I went to buy water at the reception and the guy just behaved to me in the nastiest way possible. Also we booked the place because of the beautiful pictures of the rooms, with a lot of light, but when we arrived our double room was behind the restaurant area, it was super dark and a little bit like a dungeon, it was ok but definitely not worth what we paid.
This place is a great value for the money when compared to Florida or California prices. It is very close walk to town, yet far enough that at night you can't hear the noise from the bars. It has a beautiful private courtyard for guests. If I was in my 20s, I'd probably go for the crazy party in town. But for families and those who need sleep, Kundalini is great. Plus, a great breakfast buffet is included with eggs cooked to order. Helpful nice staff!
Calm place, great breakfast, great staff and near of the beach and all we want !! Clean room good service !!
Great place; but don't be fooled about swimming pool, or possible tv if u have tv kids. Very slow, but yes there is net. Restaurant only for breakfast; all else walk to town, close. Nice folks. Lots of street dogs around. Clean. Over priced in off season.
I spend a lovely weekend with my girlfriend. Direct access to the beach. Clean and great service. There was HOT water!!! And the breakfast is served by the beach. Definitely coming back
Absolutely perfect retreat from the world! Crystal clear water with just enough waves to do a bit of surfing. The area is perfect for swimming, sun bathing, and sand castle building, too.
The Hotel Kundalini is a quiet, soothing and relaxing environment right on the beach. Very welcoming to tourists of all ages and nationalities. It sits close enough to walk into the town for food (a very short walk down the beach), yet just far enough away to avoid the town noise. Montañita seems to come alive at night. (Some of the Ecuadorians we encountered during our trip warned us that Montañita is famous for its open minded acceptance of drug use, yet we didn't see any. Don't believe the hype). The loud music from the open-air clubs, busy restaurants, street performers and tourists are all left behind as soon as you arrive back at the Kundalini.
Great breakfast options included for guests. (Lots of fresh fruit and juices, coffee, tea and chocolate, as well as a variety of hot dishes, made to order).
The hotel offers a generous assortment of hammocks and beach seating, and there are more options along the beach if you prefer to be closer to the water. (Umbrella and chair rentals run about $5 for the set all day - run independently, not part of the hotel). Just steps from the hotel, along the beach, you can even find a surfer hut, where local surfers offer lessons.
There is also a convenient outdoor shower to rinse off the sand and avoid tracking it indoors.
If one could dream up a perfect little beach getaway, this would be it. Everything about the Kundalini inspires peace and relaxation. All in all, you can't go wrong in choosing this hotel. We can't wait to return!
