Definitely a must do! The tour guide (Ovi) was super friendly and had a great knowledge about the history and everyday life of Ecuador and other South American States. When there were any questions left he was able to answer them without hesitating.
We saw a lot of different places and it was never boring.
After the tour officially ended he even showed us a nice food market where we went to eat together.
It is absolutely free - you're politely asked to give a tip but if you're not willing to give one that's okay too.response / report this review -

Our tour guide Obi was fantastic! He was very knowlegeable on the history and customs of the people of Quito. Along with that, he made the tour lots of fun!

We were just today at the Free Walking Tour with Ovi. Amazing experience from the very moment we stepped into their office. They offered drinks, WIFI and honest tourist information, all the staff is incredibly nice and profesional. Ovi provided an engaging view of the city, its history and economics. A MUST if you visit Quito :)

It's a great tour and it's free! For 3 hours nice lady Sole was telling us about Quito and Ecuador, I learnt a lot! And this Community hostel has a real community where you can come, hang around and make new friends. So I'm very glad I know you guys:)

This is a great activity to become acquainted with the town. Our guide Ovi was amazing and made the experience very enjoyable. He even took us back to the market at the end of the tour and pointed out his favorite meals. The tour lasted about 3 hours and we didn't go inside any of the buildings where you had to pay to enter, but that was understandable and you can always return to them after the tour.

Not a bad tour but the city is very noisy and it was difficult to listen to the guide some times even when she had to shout. The group was too big, 25 people.

Really great way to understand the culture and history of Quito. Our guide was very friendly and informative so now we feel we know the city better. Allow about 3 hours for the tour

Great tour by Betto. Alot of history, especially of the political and social kind. And some interesting detours, like why Ecuador uses the US dollar and why Quito has a unique geo-religiious significance. Even my 10 and 13 year old kids were entertained. Also guys at community hostel were friendly and informative, without pressuring us to buy anything.
