Very interesting and the free tours are worth it. Guayasamin was very talented and his opus magnum will leave you feeling overwhelmed but hopeful for the future. Well in other words you'll need a beer after!

Eight dollars the entrance fee is not bad at all to see incredible artwork. Beutiful place to spend at least 2hrs looking at a lot of the things Guayasamin did and how he did it. It's definitely worth your time.

I knew little about Guyasamin before this visit. It’s worth reading a bit about his life before you go. His paintings are a testament to the suffering of the poor and social activists in South American countries. You can tour the Capilla with an English-speaking guide then go back and take your time gazing at these stunning works. Then you can tour the museum, which was his house, also with an English-speaking guide. He lived quite a life. He is buried at the property under a large tree.About an eight dollar cab ride from the historic centre and about eight dollars admission.

Oswaldo Guayasin is one the most important painters that Ecuador has had, and in this place we can see his work, and get to get to understand that his paintigs have a social and historic backgound.

Beutiful house and beutiful museum. They offer tours in Spanish and English quite often. The whole time I was there, staff where friendly and eager to answer any questions I could have. The art touches on political and historical issues of latinamerica.

It was a wonderfully curated Museum and seemed to be quite enlightening to an artist's long and productive career who had been able to mingle amongst many other prominent political figures of his time.

It was all so wonderfully informative about human suffering and the artist's portrayal of such within the Latin American continent.

I loved this. One of the best attractions in Quito. The tour of his house was great (and the house is really nice architecturally) and learning about the artist, Guayasamin, was fantastic. Next door was a small museum with lots of his work.

This is a magic place where you can find some of Guayasamin's paints, Ecuadorian painter, sculptor and idealist. Once you get in, you can take the guided tour in which the guide explain each paint or group of paintings in order you can understand the passion and feelings of this amazing artist.
Also you can find certified copies and many souvenirs. I loved this place ♥

One of the top places to visit while in Quito. The entrance fee includes a guided visit to the museum and also a guided visit to Guayasamins's house where he spent his last 20 years of life.

Wonderful and interesting place. One of our guides was excellent. Two things would make it better: more information about the artist's life and lifting the photo ban. It's hard to tell others about the place without photos.

Stunning piece of architecture to show some of his work about the struggles of humanity. Powerful pieces individually, as well as together with the building and location. Great views of the city and surrounding mountains from the site and his house above.

This was one of my best experiences in Quito, Ecuador. I have to say, I am an artists, so my opinion is based heavily on that. Amazing! The tour of the Oswaldo Guayasamín's home is great & filled with very interesting information. A close look into an artists life. It goes through different sections of the home, and ends with one of the last visions of the artist. A modern museum of his lasts pieces of paint works and projects. I don't want to give it all away, and I haven't even mentioned the best part of my visit. A good choice if traveling in Quito.

Very interesting and moving tribute the suffering of massively underprivileged and abused populations of Latin America. Provokes reflection. Make sure you take the tour (in English or Spanish) because I do not think you would get as much out of it if you just did your own walk-through. It was $8 for the ticket which gives you access to the adjacent casa-museo (the artist's house- highly recommended) as well as the Capilla del Hombre.

Guayasamin was a genius. If you only have time for one museum, visit this one. Go for a walk or horse ride in a great park right next to museum.
