It was obviously a classy hotel in its day and is still pretty okay. But
.. no kettle or tea and coffee in rooms. No irons made available to guests and staff seem a bit unable to resolve issues creatively. View is great and rooms are clean!

rooms are good and the view is great if yours facing the sea.
breakfast is nice but their open buffet at night was horrible.
most of the staff speak French or Arabic with a difficult accent ( I speak Arabic and couldn't understand it).

Sadly this hotel's service does not even deserve one star. I attempted for over 15 days via emails and telephone calls to book a meeting room a training seminar. I am an overseas company and am appalled at the lack of attention of ALL the persons I have spoken to. I have decided to bring my business to a different hotel in Algiers.

Terrible! I regret that I am staying a this hotel! and seriously considering to move to another hotel!.

First, a little background about me - I travel about 14 times (about 17-18 weeks) a year (mostly for work). So, I have seen a fair share of good and bad hotels. And I used to be in customer's service industry. One of the first objectives I was told was to please the customer. But that does not seem to be a priority for this facility.

For the amount of money we paid for the room at at Hotel El Aurassi , I would expect a perfectly managed offsotge tail circuit falls into the bad hotel/service category. If there is a a grade lower than one star, that would be perfect for this hotel. The service is horrible. For example, I asked the front desk if they have an adapter that I can use, a simple request, I assume. (I come from a 110V country), the front desk recommended that I ask the Concierge. So I went to ask Concierge, I got an immediate response "we do not have it" "you have to contact housekeeping which is closed".

That is absolutely crazy. Am I supposed wait for 24 hours for the housekeeping to check they have an adapter? If there is a need to contact someone, I have to wait for housekeeping for an adapter? Maybe this is a "French" service standards,

Seriously, this hotel is not about customer service; but it is all about what the staff feels and how I can get out off of a cotumer's request!

Another visit and disappointed as usual.
No shuttle was waiting for me at airport as arranged.
No interest in the room , they gave me another room credential to log in ;)
    No soap bar in toilet
Breakfast as poor as my last visit :(

Was booked here because Sheraton is closed for renovation and Sofitel was fully booked.
This is an overrated hotel for sure.
Concierge was not available upon arrival to help with luggage. However check in process was quick.
Internet is very slow; real slow that you would just skip any news and posts that have photos.
There was nothing in my mini bar upon arrival !! And no tea/coffee making faculties in the room.
Rooms and bathrooms are quite good; seems hotel was renovated recently.
Dinner and breakfast at main Resturant were much below expectation in term of varieties and quality.
Some dinner items in the trays at the buffet were not actually warm !
The best thing about this hotel is the view from terrace and I presume some rooms ; it overlooks the entire city almost.
    I Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Very luxury hotel with very nice and big rooms. The views from almost all sides is wonderful. I don't know about the prices because I didn't pay but I think this should quite pricy. There are many restaurants in side the hotel. Each with its own style a type of food. There is also a gym that you can access for free but for the sauna you surprisingly have to pay. For message you definitely have to pay :p
So, to sum up this is a very good choice if you don't care about the price and you care about your staying at the hotel while visiting Algiers.

I only went to the Piano Bar. If you want a great view of Algiers then having a cold beverage of the balcony of the Piano Bar is a must. Fantastic views. Great service. In an iconic building that some might call ugly but I found strangely beautiful in a 70s socialistic kind of way.

Great place to stay in Algiers. Right at the tophills. Big rooms with Mediterranean Sea view. Nice ambience in restaurants. And doesn't bite your wallet much. Overall very highly recommended when you are around.

Excellent hotel, one of the best in Alger. Service is ok, clean and spacious rooms. Exquisite sea view. Food in the restaurant could be a little better.

Excellent place to stay in Algeria. The only problem was no electric appliances in the room (not allowed to have/use iron or heating kettle in the room), otherwise its very nice place to stay.
