We originally arrived on 5.26.2018. The grounds and resort were beautiful as always. This is our 5th visit here. And we have always been quite pleased. We always stay in the ocean view Cabana. We are owners of both WYNDHAM and RCI. On our 4 subsequent trips, we have always upgraded to VIP gold wristband for a fee. This time I requested this at the front desk. They sent me to the owner lounge. I requested it at the owner lounge, they sent me to the activity desk. I requested it at the activity desk, they sent me to the concierge booth. At that point, I was informed that my Windham ownership was worthless and the only way to get upgraded to VIP was to go to a presentation for ownership with Viva. I explained that we were already owners with Wyndham and didn't need that because we were part of the same resort family. We have upgraded every time that we've been here each year for a fee. But this year we were treated like criminals. With absolutely no ownership courtesy or our RCI courtesy. I repeated these actions the following day with the same run around and no WYNDHAM ownership courtesy. I will make a formal complaint with Wyndham as soon as I am state side. We go home on 6.2.2018. Other than that the resort is nice.

Loved the resort and bungalows, only problem was at the Viva boutique. The lady there had no customer service skills. She glared at my mom for finding a size of shirt. She only spoke Spanish though. I did the same thing a day later and she started yelling at me. I don't speak too much but I knew she said the f word and also," you fat gringos have no manners, you take top no matter what."

All-inclusive hotel, wide level of services, varied facilities. Activities from morning to night. Shows at night in his great theater. The best beach you have visited, corals and fish a step away, easily accessible excursions. Restaurants, bars and snacks with varied menus. An unforgettable vacation.

Beautiful clean resort. Staff was amazing . Jonathan and Jennifer in front office were exceptional with our room and transportation.
Yorkie was our housekeeper and she was darling. We found the female bartenders to be the best.
My only complaint is it is a smoking resort . They do not have designated smoking areas and if the do the are not enforced.
    Will definitely return.

I don’t even know where to start. We arrived to an outdated room and were stuck in that room for an hour because the lock was broken. After moving us to a 2nd room there were roaches and smoke came out of the air conditioner. They moved us to a 3rd room where hot air came out of the air conditioner. It wasn’t until I started yelling that they finally gave us a decent room (thank you Alessandro).

This hotel caters to Europeans. We are Dominicans from New York and I’m sad to say we felt discriminated against.

I have been there from January 7 till January 14. Food was very simple. Interteiment was great at night. Bungalow area was clean but old fashion. Beach did not clean from stones and peace of sharp corrals.

It's a nice place near the city. Better to stay at the Beach complex than the Palace complex, because that is where the better beach and action happens. It's a lively hotel with many amenities. Not a lot of variety when it comes to food, but good with drinks. I would stay there again, but at the Dominicus Beach.

I went for a day pass since I was staying with relatives in the city but I had a great time. The staff was very friendly and the food was great. The only thing that I did no liked was the fact that we didn’t receive any towels with the day pass, we had to pay extra if we wanted the towels. I’ve done day passes with other resorts and always received towels. Other than that I had a great time.

This place is not kind to locals ! I have been coming here since mid 80ties. The place has undergone many changes since than. I use to buy day pass for 15.00 usd. Now you have to jump through hoops to get one. last one I bought was 40.00 usd. Not sure how much they are now. Food is decent, rooms depends where you get one. Beach is nice. I would recommend if you are staying overnight.

I have gone on many Vacations with my family in the past and always gone on each Vacation with an open mind knowing that every Vacation will be different in their own way! BUT on this Vacation, this was by FAR the WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN! When picking this place to book, it looks nice and the reviews were not all bad.. Keeping this in mind I Consulted my other family and we made our final decision. Once we got there, there was many issues with Rooms My Mother and Father in-law were in the Bungalow right beside the very noisy area where there is music going on all hours of the night. Their Bungalows were Dirty and not nice as the look in the pictures. The staff was only nice to you and gave you the time of day if you had $$$ Dollar Bills out to tip them constantly, otherwise they ignored you and went to other people with money.ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT!!! THE Staff was also very dishonest. My mother left her purse for all of 5 Mins in the Buffet restaurant and when she went back to get it, it was gone She asked the staff around and no one had seen it.. MIND YOU we were the last Guests in there after lunch SO THERE WAS ONLY STAFF WHEN WE LEFT That means.. ONLY A STAFF MEMBER COULD HAVE TAKEN THIS!!!! WE Searched the bathrooms in the restaurant and found the Purse in the ladies Room GARBAGE EMPTY ALL HER MONEY AND PHONE GONE!!! WE reported this situation to the Security at the Resort and they got the paperwork started but nothing seemed to be getting done. The staff did not seem to care much about what had happened We kept going back to see if there was any Resolution but again we got the cold shoulder and no one would help us. As we talked to more and more staff to see if anyone could help us and help us at least get the phone back where we knew the money was gone, the staff said that this was also not the first time OTHER STAFF had stolen items from guest. They told us that often times the staff will stuff items in their pants where the security will not check. Again this lead us to believe that this was not the first or the last time this had happened. We lost so much and this took the Fun out of our Vacation. And if this was not enough! My son ended up getting a Fungal Infection on his Skin from the Swimming pool!!! SO GROSS!! The staff said this was not the first time they have seen this on children they told me to take him in the Ocean ONLY!!! This means they have had multiple issues with this before. Overall our Family Vacation was not the good. Not even a little. They staff was Rude and didn't care about its Guest. IF we could of we would of left Early. Please be mindful when picking this resort I would not want to go to a place where there are multiple reports of things being stolen from STAFF and Worry about that while your trying to relax and have FUN!

Service here is horrible. I hate the fact that the human values are lost in this country. I'm ashamed to be Dominican in this aspect.i hate the fact that if your not a tourist from outside of the country you don't get treated by respect. This is my worst experience I ever had in my life.

Resort is beautiful, along with the beach. We were actually upgraded complimentary to one of the beach bungalows, which was awesome. Staff is very friendly. Only downside is that there late night entertainment was always in Spanish, and there were no Canadian/Americans on this resort.

Beautiful Beach, Good Food and very friendly people. You can perfectly snorkeling at the beach. One downside is the internet. You have a free WiFi at a lobby which is so poor that it takes minutes to send one picture. The fast WiFi is to expensive (60$/week). But that's an issue in that country anyway.
Animation program is always about dancing. But they are good! They serve a lot large variety of drinks and offer good Italian coffee. Most people are from Italy followed by Germans.
There is a pizza corner open during the whole night and snackbars during the day.
We absolutely enjoyed our 2 weeks!

Was in La Romana. Not customer friendly at all. Air conditioner in room did not work to well. Its a huge chain of resorts so i think customer service is sacrificed a lot. Buffet was super small. You should NOT GO HERE!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY PLEASE!! TERRIBLE EXPIERIENCE AND WE ARE VERY EASY PEOPLE. MY WIFE IS EVEN FROM D.R. ORIGINALLY AND SHE AGREES.

A lot of French and Italian here I think I have met 4 people that speak English and everyone but us smokes. :-( They need a no smoking area on the beach and rules for designated smoking areas everywhere else

Quaint place, very basic. Staff was friendly. Food at the snack bar is the same everyday. There is nothing else except snack bar between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks were okay but no variety of choices and no "real" bartenders. Our bungalow would have been better with just one king or queen bed. Lastly, they need to provide washcloths instead of hand towels for 🚿. This is a mostly European resort, Americans are the minority here. It was very rare to hear English-language.

Our first time staying in an all inclusive and we were quite disappointed. Drinks were so watered down and the fruit juice they used looked like windshield washer fluid. The food was so bad, I found plastic in my food one one occasion and some foreign object on another. My husband got really I'll from the food and was down for days. The room was marginal at best, outdated and things were falling apart.

We took one of the resort sanctioned excursions (booked at the excursion office), horseback riding, the posters showed horse rides on the beach. It was the ride from hell! The horse farm was very run down and the horses were not trained, mine ran right into trees, rocks, etc and I was left with scrapes and cuts. The guide only spoke Spanish luckily I knew a little bit to get us through but they can't presume every guest at the resort knows spanish. We rode through trash water 80% of the time and never made it to a beach. We did stop at a cave but couldn't see anything in it because the guides flashlight was so dim, the only way we could see was to use the flash on our camera. On the ride back our horses ONLY ran nonstop, over very rocky terrain, we literally feared for our lives.

I will never go back to this resort, it was a nightmare!

The "free" bar had, or it seemed like watered down weak drinks, the food at the two free food halls were horrible, very bland. That forces you to get a reservation to there on site restaurants which are usually, it seemed like full by 10am. you'll have to drink 12 mixed fruity drinks or more to feel relaxed. of course they don't want a bunch of drunks puking everywhere on their property but they shouldn't weaken the drinks. The roaches in the rooms were awesome! I had a lizzard on my desk. The staff is nice, but it is a tourist get away, IE trap. Pay extra and Get a VIP pass so you can get to hang out on the NON crowded beach. Enjoy, it is, what it is. : )

Viva la vida. A ton of activities, unfortunately we kept way too active to enjoy them. But make sure to give the cat's food when your eating, they'll get cranky if you don't!
