Decent bus station. Compared to Caribe Tours or other bus companies, this is by far the best. Although don't expect anything fancy

Not what it used to be, old bus, old terminal in Santo Domingo and people keep making a dumb line outside in the heat for like 30 minutes it's stupid and tedious and the staff doesnt fix it.

Still a good way to go to PP Sosua . trip will take about 4 hours to PP. because of road construction. Some buses are getting old and should have WiFi like other buses.

Have used the Metro bus for over 28 years to get between Puerto Plata or Sosua and Santo Domingo. Generally buses are well maintained inside, have been on one or two Metro buses between Santo Domingo and Santiago which have not had an onboatd toilet.

I'm a loyal consumer of their main services, more of a sporadic user than a frequent traveler, but I must say that in the 25 years I have used their service, there has been a lack of innovation from almost every aspect. This sounds petty, believe you me, but truth be told, their focus is not aiming for customer satisfaction.
1. They do not offer competitive prices. They are by far the most expensive charter in the market right now. It's fair to say they make no pitstops during transport, but this shouldn't be a reason for charging about 50-60% extra over competition.
2. They sell tickets for cash only. In this day & age, who wants to carry cash, when they can easily buy anything using debit or credit or even check cards?. There are ATMs available onsite, but not from every bank. This is a nuisance easily remedied by implementing said process directly into their systems.
3. Complete disregard to update their platforms, systems & programs. They should have moved onto new platforms, for Smartphones or Tablets. I'm not talking Facebook, Twitter & Instagram, for comments/images sharing, but a built-in app, where I could create a login, contact customer service, purchase tickets online, with the ability to select seat number & whether I want to sit hallway/window & not necessarily a reservation with days ahead, but a feature in the app that opens once the last bus made its departure. It's really upsetting to arrive 30-40 minutes early to learn the next bus is already filled to capacity
4. Schedules are not to be trusted. In several occassions, I have arrived 5-10 before the scheduled hour for departure, only to learn from the ticket vendor that such bus left 15 minutes before the hour. Do not ask for reason because they ignore you & there is no customer service booth to make a claim. There are also occassions where the bus is nowhere to be seen 15 minutes past the hour. This is not commonplace, but it does happen quite often.
5. Bus Stations are not built for high demands. This is a constant problem during special holidays, such as Holy Week & Christmas. Stations are so crowded, I rather wait inside my car, whehter is here in Santo Domingo or Puerto Plata or Santiago, is all just the same.
6. As mentioned above, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata & Santiago have been the key points targeted by this company. The lack of newer destinations at this point in such a company is rather disappointing. Especially to the South.
7. Last, but not least, is to point out small areas of improvement that the company is taking for granted, such as the bathroom in some of the buses with deteriorated components & sometimes not enough water to even wash your hands. They could at least install a small container with hand sanitizer. The Wi-Fi service is offered, but it is not an open system as one would think, you must retrive the password from the ticket vendors, who should offer a reminder in the event you want to use the service. Plugs to charge electronic devices should be a standard in all buses, but apparently some do not carry such, including the newer models.
There is one observation I would like to make, for those old enough to remember. In the beginning of this company, there use to be a cabin attendant next to the bus driver that use to roam the hallway every once in a while, offering drinks, such as coffee, & snacks, such as cookies, crackers & even mints. For a 2 hours trip, this was a great approach for children & senior citizens, this was by far the most outstanding feature this company had until it was removed. Instead they implemented a grocery shop in almost every station, in order to gain further profits to an already expensive ticket.
I don't expect them to make an overhaul & turn the company upside-down overnight, but to listen to consumer feedback & assess what could be enhanced or improved, would increase their business a hundred-fold in no time at all.response / report this review -

Not very comfortable. Small room. Waiting lines are crowded and it's confusing which line to be in. But staff are helpful. Prices are ok. Bad food but edible. Taxi drivers sometimes gouge foreigners. The drive through areas are cramped. Cars delivering and picking up are in the way. The bases can barely get through. It takes a long time to get to it through the traffic or elsewhere. It's true that the bases are nice and timely. Their Internet doesn't always work

Very good and available transportation company, they travel from Santo Domingo to many other cities such as, but not limited to, Santiago, Puerto Plata. Prices are acceptable. You can easily get there using public transportation or by your own means.

They used to be a great way of transportation, but now they're late most of the time, buses usually are full, a very decadent service. Just travel with them if needed.

A nice terminal , I used to travel from Santiago to Santo Domingo, the Bus was pretty good nice and clean, Air condition, the bus I take was a Direct one, is With Fi en the bus, but nobody a the ticket counter o in the bus mentioned , when I see and try to Used a password was required, no where to find inside the Bus, so I have to ask passengers, after few , one give the password, if you travel make sure ask for the password at the ticket counter, also no aloud to buy tickets online, you need to make you way to the station and buy , tickets are first come first served,

I really use the Metro Tours services a lot because I live in Santo Domingo but I'm from Santiago. It is by far the best option to travel. They offer a point to point journey, which means that they do not stop in the middle of the road to leave passengers or to let street sellers to get in the bus as others traveling companies do.
However in the last couple of years their facilities have suffered deterioration and they should work on it.response / report this review -

It reminds me of a little Greyhound Bus Station. That's the American talking, but the station is open space with a deli on the opposite side. Security is good but the cab driver was trying to get me to use Calera Bus Tours probably because it was close or nicer. This bus is the one obviously the locals use.
