Beautiful location. Well maintained. Excellent friendly staff. Only criticism is the buffet food qualityit is repetitive after a day. The a la carte restaurants are delicious though. I would limit the included buffet to breakfast and lunch only. Book the restaurants ahead of time or you won't be able to get a table.
They pamper you at this resort with always asking daily if you need something.
Aroma therapy every night in your room plus butler service, and choice of different pillows for your comfort from hard to soft.
Place is kept very clean, spotless.
Food is excellent, can not ask for any better in all restaurants, and buffet.
Top shelf liquors at all bars.
Entertainment, and animation staff are wonderful. Shows every night.
Bartenders know how to mix drinks very well.
Room service is super quick.
And people don't be cheap, yes I know it is all inclusive but tipping is always appreciated by these hard workers who make your vacation wonderful at this resort.
One of the Best resorts in DR unless your handicap, have knee issues, or breathing problems because there are a lot of stairs to use daily even tho they do have a elevator.
I am 60 years of age with stairs not being a issue for me
Will be returning real soon.
Thank you all, especially Rolando, and Alex.

My wife and I decided to visit this resort based on the beautiful location and great reviews. Our experience was 100% as advertised! Everything from the room, the ocean view, the dining options, pool, hot-tub and overall, compact, quiet, tranquil nature of this resort made it a great couples get away!! I would have no hesitation returning again or recommending to others! We had a wonderful time!!
The hotel is situated in a gorgeous spot on the side of a cliff overlooking the bay. Hotel itself is very nice and clean. Staff is almost too friendly. 4 bars with mid shelf alcohol, great pool, beach, and stunning views. Not a ton of do but my goal was to slow down and relax. Would go back.
Suggestion is to take only US dollars when you go. We got Domincan Pesos but every asked for US.
Arrived on Sunday night and was greeted right away and was offered a local drink. Due to the fact that Air Canada lost my luggage The staff was really good in checking everyone in at a reasonable time and our bags were brought right up to the room by the busboy. The staff is so friendly and hard working to make the customers happy during their vacation. I would definitely recommend the Don Pablo Luxury hotels to everyone. Oh yes I did receive my luggage the very next day. Thanks to Herman my Air Canada rep.
Approx 1.3hrs from the airport you will find Luxury Bahia Principe. Be prepared for a fun filled ride with plenty of horn blowing, and bumpy roads. The resort itself is very small, with 3 restaurants, a buffet, and snack buffet. They also offer room service, although it's no different than the buffet food, with the exception they bring it to your room. There is a gym, spa, and a couple of common areas where you can relax, if you don't feel like being in the sun all day. The beach is small, but not to the point of being so small that you are sitting on each other. This is a resort for those looking for something less busy, without the kids running around. As for the folks you will be sitting beside, I would say it was 60% french, 25% English, and 15% Other. Not many visitors from the USA, as it's my understanding the closest airport for inbound US flights is about 4 hours away. Majority were Canadians, followed by Europeans, then USA. The staff speak Spanish, and I would highly suggest you bring google translator along for the ride if your a little rusty. While some of the staff can piece together a little English, plenty of conversations get lost in translation. French guests seemed to have a better understanding from what I could see. Food was good, with a large selection of items at the buffet. Only one of the restaurants stood out as being top notch, while the other 2 were a bit disappointing. The view is beautiful, and the property is well cared for. Like any of these resorts, some paint, and TLC would go a long way. The room was just ok. The ceiling had a leak in the bathroom due to condensation from the AC. The in room hot tub had a broken jet, so water sprayed everywhere. Once they fixed it, the jets spewed rust and hair. It was pretty gross, and we choose not to use it. When we checked in, they said they only had a room with two single beds, not a King as we had requested 4 months prior. We were not pleased by that, however they did accommodate us fairly quickly with a new room. With that, came the problems listed above. Even with the problems I would still recommend the resort, just for the fact that it's adult only within a decent price range. I don't feel that the 5 star rating they advertise is bang on though, at least not until they improve the room problems (several guests that I spoke to had issues). As well, they need to update the nightly entertainment, and in my personal opinion improve the restaurant quality. Tip: if you are thinking of upgrading to the Junior suite deluxe, don't bother. It's located beside a busy main road, with trucks, motorcycles, buses, etc, spewing blue smoke all day. Not only is it loud till around midnight every night, but smelly as well depending on the wind direction. The view however is spectacular, and the rooms are a little bigger.
Amazing staff at the resort, we had a great time everyday. Food was delicious, lots of healthy options. Great activities throughout the day and night. They really know how to make you feel welcome. Definitely recommend this place.
Beautiful hotel set on Rocky cliff. The complex has a small physical footprint so walking is limited within the gates of the property. F block of rooms is near road, so there is considerable noise from motorcycles all day, also at beach area. The waves break that noise for the most part. However, the good news is the rooms all have double doors with good soundproofing so it is quiet. Rooms are well air conditioned and very attractive and comfortable. Food is excellent and staff are amazing! It's called "luxury" and lives up to it's name.
Beautiful if you want rest and relaxation, not mu ch to do but eat and rest by the pool, small beach area not veey good ocean swimming
A beautiful spot with great views. The food is very good. The staff is helpful. Occasionally a Spanish / English difficulty but wasn't a problem. We found the Ocean View room to be worth the extra cost. The beach is nice but relatively short. Little trouble to get a beach chair
been to a few resorts,, this was awesome! we wanted a relaxing time and this place exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival got our own butler/maid for the duration. Ramon was an outstanding shift captain who surprised us for our wedding anniversary and had the room covered w/ rose pedals with champagne waiting. Roberto and Jose were a great bartenders, easy to talk with and never forgot what you wanted. One of servers, Ingrid was so personable!! what a great lady!! the whole staff was tremendous- they treated you like this was your house and went out their way make you feel at home. the food was so so so delicious!!! i don't even know how they make money on just the food alone along with the gourmet style chef's cooking it!! the food presentation and setup was awesome!!! this time of year was great, not a lot people plus a good thing is too, no kids or younger crowd getting overly drunk.. this was meant to relax.
now the cons: the first couple days, the beach was kind of dirty and some garbage on it, this may have been due to a storm nearby, but by day 3 it did clear up and no more garbage. the caulking around the tub/shower could have been done better, i notice little things like this especially when you pay good money. there isn't a whole lot to do directly outside or nearest town where this hotel is located at. so, if you want to explore, you either need to pay alot for taxi's unless you rent a car or take an excursion or two. we went to Playa Ricon Beach and to Limon Falls, both a good time. If we decide to go back to the DR, we will probably come here again. Keep in mind, like i said, this is a relaxing resort!!-Not a party-it-up or a spring break type of atmosphere! If going outside the hotel grounds, bring a back pack and some extra cash.. everyone works on TIPS besides whatever the cost is. If going to the Falls and doing horseback, you don't need their boots, but def wear sneakers , you may get muddy too.
This place is perfect for a relaxing vacation. The views are breath taking. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The staff is very friendly, and the food was really good. Not a party place, but still fun.
First plane in since hurricane Irma and we were treated with a drink and hot meal Upon arrival. I think they were happy to have tourists back. Very quiet and great resort. Very little damage.
Thumbs up for the great staff.
Quiet but great vacation spot. No locals trying to sell things anywhere in the resort. Beautiful public beach near by and there is also a private beach at the resort.
My husband and I went there for our honeymoon. Everyone is super nice, the staff made sure we had everything we need. The food was excellent and the views breathtaking. The best part of itno kids, so we were able to relax and made a nice group of friends. I will definitely recommend it
Awesome resort. As my first time on a resort, I can say that I have high standards now. Very well maintained and clean. The service is very good, employees always have a smile on their faces and they make you feel very comfortable. Many activities for all kinds of people and moods, do nothing and just enjoy the view is also an option. Food?! Just don't bother, many options, very well done and presented.
Just returned from a wonderful week at the Bahia Principe SamaNa. First the exciting part. Getting there from the airport in Santo Domingo. The resort is about 250 kms (150 mi) from the airport - about a 2-1/2 hr drive. Pretty country and time DID fly. We were driven to the resort in a brand new, large Hyundai van. On the autopista (pay-freeway), we cruised at about 120 kph (70 mph) when the speed limit was 80 kph. The 2 lanes were turned into 3, and sometimes 4, lanes as needed. When we got to towns (25 kph max - 15 mph) with people crowding both sides, whole families on motorbikes, chickens, dogs (the dogs all looked the same) - we slowed down to about 119 kph, missing everything and everybody by inches - chickens flying everywhere - dogs and people barely acknowledged us at all. The trip in was something to be remembered - forever. - AAHH. but the service at the hotel was GREAT. Met by the ever available Nuirton, "Mr Solution". Our butler, Ramon, was great - handled every thing at light speed. Christopher and Francisco (Paco) at the front desk were ever cheerful and helpful. The staff was helpful and always smiling - they are what really makes your stay wonderful. Especially Pedro, a waiter whom I referred to as "el Coronel"- keep it up, Colonel. Jose and all the other wait staff was fabulous.
The service and food was excellent. Oddly, they had the biggest selection of different sausages, salamis, and prosciutto in one place that I have ever seen. - Caveat: If you're looking for loud music and lots of action, go to Punta Cana; this place is laid-back, quiet luxury. You do what you want, at your pace - ask for anything you want and it is yours. Further caveat: we've been members of the Palace Resorts for years and if you're looking for the Moon Palace in Cancun, this ain't it. But it does a credible job of being a laid-back, smaller version at a more reasonable price. Try it. You'll like it.
Where can I start? This hotel went far beyond our expectations in all aspects. From the breathtaking views, to the delicious food, to the amazing service from all staff members!! Special shout out to Manuela, Faouzi, Francisco, Jennifer, Junior and the rest of the front desk staff and waiters. Initially they gave us a room with 1 king bed instead of 2 queen beds like we had booked, Manuela was quick to upgrade us to a large suite with amazing views from the balcony for free of charge instantly. The buffet was always delicious with many options each day, we especially loved the sea food buffet on Thursday. The a la cartes were also included and we had enjoyed them as well especially the Italian restaurant. The entire resort was always spotless and very clean each day. The beach was small but very lovely with lots of chairs to sit on. This was our first visit to the Dominican and we were very impressed, definitely a 5 star resort. The nightly entertainment shows were also very fun to watch and were well organized. We would definitely recommend this resort and we will be coming back in the future!!!
Loved it! Clean with a very helpful and coordinated staff in all departments! The main desk was helpful, the food was very good quality for a resort! The maids and cleaning crew kept the place spotless, and any others services were done correctly. The beach was a bit rocky in places, but still a very nice beach with a beautiful view.
Beautiful resort inside and out. Nice beach never crowded, good drinks, great food and the staff is always very polite and eager to please. Wi-fi throughout the resort is also a nice touch.
We have stayed at several Bahia Principe resorts. Though all are very nice this location was the best overall. The people are great (as are all DR people) the rooms are beautiful, the reviews are to die for, the Food was very good at all restaurants but especially at the three main restaurants.
