Lovely hotel situated on its own island, the only problem was the boats did not run regular and they dropped you miles from the local town of Samana so you had to get a taxi and get ripped off.
The children on the jetty when you arrive are actually very nice if you get to know them, yes they are asking for money but if you lived there in there situation you would do the same.
We used to take our inclusive drinks from our fridge in room and give them to the children Non alcoholic only, I even used to have a kick about with a make shift ball while waiting for the boat.
The hotel staff were all very nice especially the animation team.
Food was normal standard for All inclusive but if you venture out to the local town you can pick up some excellent food very cheap.
There is a late bar on the main beach after the beach has closed to the locals and they have all left the island only problem was getting people to go most nights it was just a couple of guests and all the staff but still a great evening.

Visited in April 2017. Love the place. It has 3 beaches, 1 with big waves not the best for swimming, 2 calm water good for swimming, but nothing to explore if you snorkeling, 3 public beach, calm best for swimming and further to the left calm water with some small reefs for snorkeling. Public beach is big and we only saw one local family there. Public beach is closed to public at night for resorts beach party. There is only this resort on island so it feels very private. 15-20 min boat ride from main land.
Some report issues with reservations for alacarte. We didn't have any. Best place for diner Don Pablo. Most suites are spread among edge of whole island, so distances are considerably bigger then most resorts, it is not an issue since there is small electric carts (taxi like) constantly going through resort picking up and dropping off people. My only issue was that cappuccino is not maid traditional way, only from automated machine witch obviously would never taste like cappuccino. I should take off 1/4 star for it.

We stayed at Cayo Levantado in April 2018. We stopped in a deluxe junior suite - garden side with private whirlpool.. definitely worth the upgrade! Everything at this hotel was excellent and the staff were truly amazing! The transfer is long. but definitively worth it. Faultless would highly recommend! Pure luxury.

I just got home from my trip to Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado and I cant wait to go back. This resort is very elegant and pristine without being pretentious. I felt very at home here. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The staff here are amazing. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious. The food is delicious with many options. We especially liked Rodizio it was our favorite. We were fortunate to go during the whales migration that was an awesome experience. I can’t say enough about this place. It was one of our best vacations ever! Thank you Luxury Bahia we will see you again soon!

We spent 3 nights in Junior suite superior, all inclusive. Nice hotel in a fantastic position; rooms very large as the bathroom and terrace too with nice landscape. The service is not a luxury hotel service: long time in queue at the reception at our arrival, room arranged very often in the afternoon only, no sweet dream in the room, room staff not so kind, no porter when we left the hotel (unbelievable!!). Good quality food at breakfast and dinner. Impossible cocktails at the Pool bar. In general no particular cocooning

We had an amazing experience this past week as we stayed at the Luxury report is Samana. From the moment we stepped foot on the resort to the moment we left, we were provided with staff who would not smiling! Everyone was so kind, and ensured that you felt comfortable, and your stay was perfect! Our room was gorgeous, along with the beach and the pools! We loved how clean everything was, along with how easily accessible it is. There was a taxi service, but because the entire resort was covered with great landscaping - we choose to walk. We did not want to leave this breathtaking and relaxing resort at the end of the trip! Thank you to all the wonderful staff who kept everything cleaned, along with the restaurant and front end staff who were ensuring all our needs were being met!! Cannot wait to return to this resort in the near future!

Do not waste your time with their "Privilege Club" sales pitch.
*The draw envelope: it was never brought to our beach vila, nor was it left at the front desk.
*The gift for attending the pitch: it was "not available but would be left at front desk"ahah! That was funny as i knew it would not be.and surprise.it wasn't!!!!

Anyway i will leave another review AFTER i leave the resort for the rest of the experience. But for now, thank you Privilege Club for giving us the biggest negative experience of our stay. You didn't ruin it but sadly you diminished the hard work of your colleagues here at the resort.

This place was amazing! The entertaining staff always made sure we were having a great time and were very attentive. Paulina and Mary Lou were amongst some of the awesome staff, such caring, helpful and loving ladies. Alberto and Brian always made our beach party time fantastic! Marcos delivered awesome butler service as well! Every single one of the staff were fabulous!
The place was unbelievable, the Restaurants were fantastic especially the Brazilian and Italian. Dinner buffet was great with lots of options. The only thing I would have added was perhaps a beach barbecue option during lunch.
Overall, this was a romantic, clean and friendly resort Absolutely recommend this place and will return for sure!

From the moment my new husband and I landed , everything went smoothly! The transport from the airport ,to the arrival to our beautiful room! It had been decorated with rose petals , candles and champagne! Even little gifts of chocolates and other gifts! They delivered ice every day, as requested and twice more romanticized our room during our stay! One night , we came in and a full bath of bubbles, rose petals and lit candles were waiting for us.Two champagne glasses and champagne as well! The team outdoors were excellent in getting us involved in all the outdoor activities! We looked forward to them every day! The food was delicious, always enough! The Main restaurants dishes were so delectable! The employees all had impeccable manners! It was always as if they were there just to please you! I can not be happier with the way my honeymoon turned out! It was more than I imagined possible! We are already talking about going back for our anniversary!!! Anyone reading this, must make a point to go. You will not be sorry!

Be aware that even if you are paying for a five star, you will realize that the food is very below average. It took us three days to be able to get our reservations for the restaurant a la carte booked, when we finally got to the Italian restaurant my partner did not eat his chicken because it was not cooked enough. Regarding the Brazilian restaurant we were very disappointed in the quality of meat. The meet was tough - probably in the quality of the parts they were serving. A lot of fat and tendons. One other thing that you will notice is the quality of the house wine. You will see that clients will ask to dilute their white wine with ice as it is not cold enough and tasteless. We tried the red wine once and never tried it again because it was terrible maybe it's a strategy to force the clients to order the wine from the wine list. One other thing that surprised us, was the fact that they do not serve lobster at this time of the year pretending it's not the season. We travel in the Caribbean's every year and we've been having lobster every time, we also heard that people in other resorts we're having lobster. When we got to the Mediterranean restaurant and I ordered the seafood platter, I received two skewers for shrimps - very small in size. I was surprised as for me seafood is not limited to shrimps only. Clients a the resort where joking about the quality of food by saying that it was tasteless as a senior home restaurants. That is really sad. At last, before going for dinner we used to have a cocktail at the lounge area however it was impossible to get it dry martini. For them a dry martini corresponds to the label on the bottle and they were serving me with Vermouth on ice. Two nights in a row they ran out of olives at the bar so they couldn't do a martini with olives and I also had to go to the bartender each night to explain how I wanted my martini which was consisting of vodka – vermouth – olives. They simply did not know what it was. Two nights in a row they ran out of ginger ale. I could add many more examples but I think you are getting the sense of my review. This might sound like we are difficult people but when you pay for a five star supposedly a Don Pablo collection property and you're not able to eat good food with a Wow moment or drink as you would like to drink on vacation it shows that there is definitely a problem. Either economical and they're trying to cut where they can or it's a property management problem. For the rest of the property from cleanness to quietness, they are good and doing well. We are glad we turned down the offer to get into their timeshare program as I wanted to see first what they could offer.

First off, I'd like to say that we are very excited to stay at this hotel. Our decision based on the Google's reviews and the photos on their website, it looks incredibly amazing. I've been also searching and watching YouTube videos. The reason for my reservation is our first weeding anniversary/honeymoon, me and my wife reside in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and I can't wait for March 20th 2017 to come. I will tell all of you more once I get there and experience this marvelous hotel/resort. Thanks in advance and I look forward to see you I a couple weeks
