I think, this shopping mall is mostly for tourists. It's nice one, big choice of food and items, good quality. Inside it's is clean. If you don't have local money, you can pay in the supermarket in US dollars, in February 2018 the rate was 1$ =44 pesos. But they give you change in pesos

This store is located at Downton, La Romana, Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 it’s a Departament Store with several services like money Center, Banks, Pharmacy, beauty Salon, and more. I had a delicious lunch at the cafeteria for a reasonable price.

Accepts Visa. Offers supermarket items, large selection of wine and spirits [incl beer and liquor] as well prepared food, food court, clothing and household items, restrooms, bank services, cell phone services. Security at entrance. Assistance offered to cart/load items to vehicle. Parking can be very busy.

We found everything we needed but some of the staff was not as helpful and made it a little uncomfortable when we paid with US dollars instead of pesos.
I would recommend a trip to pick up some odds and ends that maybe you forgot to bring with you.

Jumbo is my go to place. They have a wide variety of food products and good quality meat. It's not just a supermarket, you can find banks, pay your light bill, hair salon, local phone providers (Claro & Orange) and other. Thet have a large food court (Jade Teriyaki, Pollo Victoriana, Burger King, Pala Pizza, Cafe Santo Domingo and Bon Ice cream) and Jumbo kitchen sells local Dominican food.

This place is huge. Could not believe what I saw. Was able to see everything - the environment looked clean and safe. Enjoyed seeing the wholesale building and everything inside.
