Nice quiet place for your vacation .
Not to far from action and from nice shore .

Was a very bad and rundown place to stay.I only stauyed one of the four nights i paid for and stayed at the hotel Caribey just a couple minutes walk away was like comparing the Ritz Carlton to a motel6 for the same price. I would not recommend anyone to stay there

Having stayed at all most all levels of motel/ hotels from Motel 6 to Hotel Continental or Embassy Suites and Marriott. I can honestly give this review .You see all these good looking pictures and nice reviews, one would think this is a good place to stay. I want to be fair to this hotel but I have to say that these reviews are a far cry from what we saw. Three of us went there this last may 2015. The experience what not as good as these reviewers and the pictures suggest. For one, the surroundings were unkempt. the rooms were so so. except for 3 rooms there are no Televisions in the rest of the hotel. The food was awful. We made friends with a local who used to work there. She said sometimes guest would show up and be surprised and ask "is this really Hotel La Tortuga?" I can see that if detailed, the experience would be a very good one but it is not at the moment. It reminds me of a place that used to be good but now lack the funds to keep it up. I am not against the hotel, I just think is not worth $75 per night. Think of a motel 6 masquerading as a resort and you get the idea.

I really enjoyed my stay at this cosy, welcoming hotel. I stayed for a whole week in a great, spacious room. Breakfast is erved impeccably "au bord de la piscine" by a very flexible stuff who worked hard to accomodate my dietary needs. The first couple of nights I went scouting for restaurants in the village, but then I tried the inhouse restaurant and just kept having dinner at the hotel for the rest of my stay. They have a wonderful cook and the service is great! It's conveniently located and quite at the same time. Useful infos about excursions are provided by the managment who can also give great tips about not get in trouble in this wonderful but complicated country. Enjoy!
