A charming place, apartments were fully equipped and had a private balcony to enjoy some drinks gazing into the magnificent view of the pool and the ocean behind it.
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was at walking distance from a variety of restaurants from budget to upscale ones.
Would recommend it for families or couples wanting a relaxed and beautiful place to stay.response / report this review -

Wonderful Place to stay! The very negative review that was posted? No idea what they are talking about very clean, extremely well maintained property, gardens, pool. No bugs and.my room was quiet.
Yes, I could understand how the rooms near the front of the property could get noise from El Lugar restaurant to the East (but I don't think they have live or loud music, Bruno runs a very nice restaurant) and certainly the liquor store immediately to West plays loud music. But these buildings are SOLID concrete.
Ask for a quiet room and all will be fine.
ALL staff is lovely and kind!

Perfect location in the center of the beachfront strip in Las Terrenas, close to everything, beautiful pool and the living area was very comfortable. Restaurant has a view of the ocean and the entire complex is literally across the street from the beach.

More like a Motel than a Hotel
I stayed here last week for three nights with my husband. We were looking for a hotel in Las Terrenas that was clean, affordable and near the beach. We came across Albachiara and the website sold us. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GREAT PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE!!! The only thing this "hotel" has going for it is their wonderful and extremely nice Dominican staff ( they were so sweet and helpful) and the pool, everything else is a fraud. First the hotel is not beach frontit is ocean front. A deception the website leads you to believe. The ocean across the street is rough and choppy and used mainly for fishing crabs, lobsters, fish and shrimp. Which are sold and cooked at near by restaurants. But you can visit beaches nearby that are about a ten minute walk.
Second, our room was INFESTED!!!! WE had MOSQUITOS, ANTS, my husband even killed a giant ROACH!!! It was disgusting. I did not take my clothes out of my suitcase. We were so uncomfortable and got bit numerous time sin our room. The bed was another disaster. Paper thin sheets, a bed spread that was made out of curtain fabric, pillows that were bulky and uncomfortable, (had to request a second set of pillows) and the air conditioner is placed directly above the bed so the cold air blows over your head all night. We did not sleep at all. The mattress is thin and uncomfortable and thrown over slabs of wood, no box spring. I would have slept more comfortably on my living room couch. The ladies that clean do a quick sweep through. The furniture was dusty, and out dated. There was dust everywhere. We had a kitchenette but with all the bugs in our room we did not dare to cook.
Furthermore, the room is accessed using keys. The doors can only be locked and unlocked with keys (even from inside). So you must constantly keep the keys handy to go in and out of the two sets of doors in your room. The balcony is nice but in order to enjoy the view you must stand once you sit on the patio chairs you can no longer see over the ledge or super thick pillars. Its very weird and awkward the layout of the room.
The bathroom was below standards but in better condition than the rest of the room. The decor was awful! With old wooden furniture that looked like something out of the 1980's. Even our lamp was horrific. The safe is old and outdated as well and is also opened and closed with a KEY ughhh!!. Luckily we were in a great area with lots to do. My husband and I are the adventurous type and don't stay in our rooms long. But if you are the type that like to stay and lounge around in your room, this is not the hotel for you. Also the rooms do not have central air so you must keep your AC on while you're out or else the room will get musky and moist just hope and pray the cleaning ladies do not turn off your AC while you're out exploring.( as they did to us)
Overall, this hotel stay was the worst!!! I will never stay there again. And I do not recommend it to anyone. Don't be fooled by the outside appearances the rooms are terrible and bug infested. The beds are worst than sleeping bags. Only thing saving this place is their wonderful staff. Everything else is thumbs down! Do yourself a favor spend the extra money and stay in a real 4 star resort, its worth it.response / report this review -

We were visiting Los Terrenos and looking for a nice place to eat. The hotel staff welcomed us very friendly even though we were not residing in the hotel. We got the best table upstars with magnificent sea vieuw.
The quality of the dinner prepared by the Italian female chef surprised us and was not expensive for what we got. Price is camarable with many fo the roadside less luxury restaurants. The Chef herself cam to our table to make recommendtions ofn the foord and to check that everything was Ok.response / report this review -

when the road appears to go no further, the cemetary gate ahead and wall murals means you're just by the famed beach front hotel Albachiara. Located on the beach road next to Pueblo de los Pescadores, it is situated at the perfect spot for walking to the beach or back into the town of Las Terrenas, hitting the french bakery in the morning or going to the hotspot next door in the evening. The flair is expat meets D.R. locals. Friendly staff, concierge rated ++

Very nice place in Samana. Best service and food I have seen in all of Las Terrenas. Very nice pool, nice breakfast included. Across the street from the beach. And my unit has a small sleeper sofa and s full kitchen. No complaints
