Worst airport to travel through. They randomly make up their own rules as they go to confiscate your stuff. Completely unprofessional, everyone feels the need to check your passport even though they don’t need to for any reason. If you want a smooth travel experience avoid this airport.

My son are on a returning flight today December 29, 2017 from DR and is the first time they are traveling international by themselves. As they were going thru security at the Santiago Airport, the person told my son that he had to throw out his cologne which was only 2.0 OZ. This is clearly stealing. Because my son do not know the system and the guy was so nasty with him, he just followed instructions and disposed of it. He took the cologne from here (JFK) to STI and there was clearly no problem since it was only 2.0 OZ. His position as an airport agent is to PROTECT and follow RULES NOT to STEAL from the passengers.
STI Airport executives, TRAIN YOUR PERSONEL TO FOLLOW PROTOCAL AND STICK to the Transportation Security Administration regulation and not to their own rule AND NOT STEAL FROM THE PASANGERS!!!!

STI is not that bad at all.

    - Clean airport.
    - Friendly staff and stewardesses.
    - Paid parking 🅿 🚙 for 25 pesos.
    - It gets busy during the major holidays like x-mas.

I would recommend this airport to anyone traveling to the Dominican Republic.

It’s incredible how many people need to check your passport. I got check by 10 people on my flight back to NYC. This goes against personal information security. The worst service in my life. Not recommended

Small, but cozy. This airport is a great relief for Santiago and its closest cities. However the airport staff should be better trained, because they don't always offer good service/information. Also the area could be a little more clean, specially the bathrooms.

And I think that the parking fee is expensive, specially since they do not take responsability for any damage or loss.

Lovely small international airport. Beautiful arrivals area on an outdoor patio with water feature and fans. Helpful staff at departures. Easy to navigate.

One of the greatest small international airports I've had the pleasure of traveling through. Fast friendly service, never a long wait for anything. I've been through this airport a few dozen times.

This is a small airport, not very crowded. The landing and Immigration process is always fast because they're usually expecting 1 flight at one specific time. For tourist (not Dominican citizens) there's a US$10 admission fee, valid for 30 days, and if you're staying longer you'll have to pay an "overstay fee", this fee depends on the time you overstayed. The departures always get delayed, because people don't listen and make the whole process (check-in, security, boarding) really difficult, specially because most of the time 50-60% of the passengers are first time travelers, and waste a lot of time trying to fit their super packed carry-on baggage on the plane, and convincing the flight attendant that they will make it fit. Other than that you will have an amazing experience here. Enjoy your trip!! :)

Amazing, Staff helps a lot and some even go as far as learning multiple languages. Im from Santiago, so I know a lot about this airport since I used to travel there every summer. It is beautiful, clean, and heavily secured. Have a safe flight.

Small but easy in and out. A nice friendly staff and it's always clean. Beautiful design. Don't be fool by how small it is, people fight in and out from this airport like crazy.
