A 5 minutos a pies de la Playa del Macao. Actualmente en remodelación, muy buen lugar.

If you are a traveler/backpacker, this place is for you. Really close to the macao beach, it's ideal if you are a surfer ( surfing school near by). However, if you are picky, just pass you way. Casa Paraiso gives you a real taste of Dominican republic : cold shower and cute gecko in the bath tub ;) also I would recommend to stay only for 1 or 2 nights- unless you have a car, Macao is really small and at 6pm everything is closed. And I mean everything. No shops, no restaurants nothing. However, you can meet amazing people in this place and have an incredible human experience. Miguel, the owner, is a bit shy at first, but if you try to open up to him, he turns out to be a really helpful person. Despite of my very poor Spanish, we manage to communicate quite good. We booked an entire week at his house but finally decided to move to a different place after only 3 nights. Miguel gave us back a part of the reservation money and offered us a ride to bavaro. The big minus is definitely the lack of infrastructures in this area and the high prices in restaurants and shops. Except that, don't trust your first impression and let casa Paraiso surprise you :)

Even if we are looking for basic place with minimum vital, I don't really recommend this place, was really dirty and the owner not really friendly, just the dogs are :). 5 min by foot from the beach Macao (really beautiful) and better to rent a motorbike or car cuz nothing around like supermarket, restaurant, etc
