Our experience was FAR from ideal. We arrived at the hotel only to find that our room was not even close to ready and from what we could surmise we were not really expected though our reservations were made 4 months in advance. They requested to see our passports and made us feel VERY unwelcome. They then suggested we visit the grill until our room was ready (THAT took 2 hours!) and when we finally got to our room we found it NOTHING like the pictures that we saw when we booked our Ocean Front Loft. Our room was NOT clean, the furniture was old and stained in many places and was broken and peeling in others. Our refrigerator contained “previously enjoyed” beverages from the guests who were there before us. And it was soooooo far away from the resort proper that we did not even have functioning lights in our walkways. When we spoke to the Front Desk to express our concerns we were told that they would make arrangements to have us moved 9 more visits, sending of pictures to the manager, a leaking roof (which jolted us out of a sound sleep) and 2 1/2 Days (after a threatening call from our Travel Agent and the company she works through) we were FINALLY moved. I wish we could post pictures with this review so that you can FULLY appreciate how awful our accommodations were. And the way they made us feel was terrible. What an unpleasant experience this was as a whole and I would recommend you look elsewhere if you intend to enjoy the beautiful Dominican Republic

My Husband and I got married here!!!😍😍 It was a small intimate affair, and we had a blast!!! Our room was beautiful as well as our guests who came! THE ALL INCLUSIVE STAY IS THE BEST WAY TO GO! We had about 20 guests so it's nice to have 3 meals a day and drinks! The staff were very friendly !! Gotta try the sweet tai chili wings at the pool bar they are yummy!!! It's a great getaway from the shuffles of life, but still close enough to the comforts of home as well (Applebees, Wendy's, Mall). This stay was our 2nd stay in the Dominican Republic and I absolutely love it!!! We will definitely be going again!!

This property has great potential. Unfortunately, ownership will need to change and pump some money into maintenance.

Worst resort I've ever been to. Most pictures and amenities stated on the internet are actually for the sister resort Alsol Tiria. False advertising in my opinion and Sun Wing will be hearing from us once we return to Canada. Never felt so relieved for my vacation to be done. Anyone stuck at this resort, go down to the front desk (which is actually a closet converted into a front desk) and ask for a letter to go to the sister resort. It will cost you $3.00 for a cab ride but definitely worth it. All your meals and drinks are included at the sister resort. No activities at this resort, beach is small, dirty and water is dark grey. Most staff hate their job and believe me it shows. I can't believe my wife and I spent $4,000 on this vacation!! Stay away unless you really enjoy crying on your vacation.

Within 24 hours of arrival we called Apple Vacations and arranged a transfer to another resort. It costed a chunk of extra $ but it was worth it. If all you care about is beer and a pool, you might be satisfied here.
About 2/3 of the rooms are shut down. Feels like the place is barely open. Buildings are in disrepair, food service is very slow, there is only 1 restaurant open at a time and the lunch restaurant is outside with about 8 tables and a very limited menu.
The lunch and dinner food were pretty tasty but never hot and the morning buffett had very few hot items compared to most resorts.
The beach is small (not walkable) and they try to clean the seaweed and other natural debris that washes us but only half heartedly.
There were a couple friendly workers, the rest seemed like they didn't want to be there either. Unless you get a super, super cheap deal and like I said all you care about is a pool and all inclusive beer , I would not waste your $ here

I recently stayed there for a 4 days trip. The place is nice and clean.

We had the honeymoon suite with a private jacuzzi. The view was very nice. Room service was inconsistant and also service in general is bad. We were out of drinking water and we called many times for room service and reception with no awnser. I ended up having to walk at night to go pick up water bottles from a guy that was giving me attitude telling me it was not free.

(i never asked them to give them free of charge but at least pick up the phone).

This being said, it is a nice place to go as a couple to relax but dont expect any luxury or preferred service.

We just got back from our Honeymoon and this place was amazing. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and truly treats you like family.

    pros:

    - THE STAFF IS SUUUPER FRIENDLY ALWAYS
    - Great dinner menu & Coffee
    - Large rooms
    - Awesome views from every balcony
    - Nachito Guacamole!!!!!! (resort dog)

    Cons

    - Gets warm in the rooms at night
    - A Few minor details get missed by the cleaning staff
    - limited number of places to eat on the resort
    - staff speaks 90% Spanish / 10% English

    Overall:
If you need to have the best of the best or have incredibly over the top expectations then this place is not for you BUT if you want a consistently friendly staff that will treat you like a king, do not like huge crowds, and can look at the big picture then this is the place for you.

    notes:

    - I highly recommend brushing up on your Spanish or you may not always get exactly what you want
    - if something is not to your liking, mention it to the staff and see what your options are
    - if you want something special tipping helps ensure that it is a priority
    - please treat the staff with respect
    - talk to the other guests, we made some amazing friends on the resort.

    SHOUT OUT!
Garo, Yimmy, Juan, Daniel (Yeah, Baby!!!) Thank you!

I recently stayed here with my aunt and cousin (Oct 29-Nov 5) in exchange through Interval International for my 2BD Marriott St Kitts timeshare. While the staff was attentive and friendly, the property is badly in need of a facelift, especially compared with its sister properties down the road. We had to be moved from our first accommodation because the door wouldn't lock. From the moment we checked into our second suite, we were confronted with a nauseating odor--like the sewer had backed up. The housekeeping staff placed candles and bowls of ground coffee around the 2 bedroom suite to dispell the odor. The odor persisted ranging from intolerable to annoying--even waking us during the night a few times. In addition the waterline in the refrigerator connected to the ice-maker malfunctioned, flooding the kitchen when we returned to our suite. There was a constant parade of engineers and housekeepers in our room during our stay. We were frequently at the front desk requesting help and service to resolve these issues. Finally, the property is all-inclusive, requiring the purchase of a meal plan. Because it was off-season, we had only one restaurant for all three meals--which has never been my experience as I travel during this time frame every year to beach resorts. When we checked out, Jessie, the front desk manager said she would credit us for two daily meal plans (equivalent of $200) to make up for our poor experience. Since checking out over 2 months ago, I have been calling the resort multiple times to inquire about my $200 credit. On a recent call I was told Jessie didn't recall making that offer. I will also be posting this on Trip Advisor and in an email to Interval International and the hotel property until this situation is resolved to my satisfaction.

Just returned from Alsol Del Mar yesterday

    Do NOT stay here!

    Pros:
Large pool with swim up bar
Mostly friendly staff, but need to be asked several times for something
    food is average
Nice looking resort on the outside.

    Cons:
Spent a week in an Ocean loft with no air conditioner. Many complaints and nothing was done about it. Approx 85 degrees upstairs, maybe 75 downstairs the entire time. Could not even get a fan.

    Roof leaked when it rained.

Complete resort shuts down around 8 pm, with the exception of the one small lobby bar. No entertainment what-so-ever. No un-motorized water sports available, no music, dancing, etc

The pics of the rooms on are their website are not what you getIn need of much work and updating.

Never received complimentary robe or slippers, even after brought it to their attention.

They DO NOT refill fridge with drinks, beer, etcyou have to order from room service.

Never refilled coffee for coffee pot in room.

Breakfast buffet, although served in doors, has flies all over all of the food that is sitting out!

I do not recommend this resort.

This place is like heaven in earth, the view of the apartments to the sea is just wonderful. The quality of the condos is just amazing. There is a jacuzzi in the balcony with a view to the beach. I highly recommend this place, for buying or just vacation. The condos are accessible for people with disabilities.
