This place is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. The thing they need to work on is advertising though. I booked a honeymoon getaway which included sparkling wine and chocolates, and decorations in the room on the day of arrival, a couples massage, a romantic dinner on the beach, and a photo of us. Come to find out there was no wine, chocolates or decorations. Our room was beautiful but nothing special was waiting for us. We were told one of us could get the massage and they would take a picture of us if we sat through an hour and a half presentation. Lastly the romantic dinnerwe were told we could pick one of the themed restaurants to have our lobster dinner at, not the beach. I will say I was not feeling well so when we went to our lobster dinner the staff was kind enough to bring me club soda with lime and have our lobster sent to the room. They have the best lobster I have ever had, I just wished they wouldn't have got our hopes up with the rest, as I had a good time but was disappointed for not receiving all that was promised. Overall it is beautiful, fun, and the staff is friendly.

Nice location close to the airport and some attractions, shirt distances to run for those who want to go in excursion.
Very nice rooms ( I had a privileged room ), clean and large. Big balcony and close to the beach and swimming pool.
The beach is great, safe and clean. The water is excellent for swimming and snorkelling, we can watch a lot of different kind of fish very close to shore.
Also good for water sports. The animation team and all the hotel staff is great, congratulations!
The buffet restaurant could be improved, to many times the same kind of food, desserts and fruits. The Rodeo restaurant is really good!
Thanks to all !!
This resort has a wonderful animation team. They are fun, sociable, always present but not invading our space. Took great care of the kids and made the whole family feel special and welcome.
Decaprio, Julia, Fletcher and all of the teams were amazing. Jennifer, Francesca and Alvin at the Pure Bar were awesome. Thanks for making our trip fun.
The resort has many amenities and lots of things to keep you busy if lying around sunbathing is not your thing. food is good. Buffet food could be a bit better for my taste but really, there are enough places to get food that I barely ate at the buffet.
Great Job
Incredible resort! Such friendly staff (here's a shout-out to each of them!), and so many activities and programs to keep everyone entertained. The food was delicious; never ran out of choices on where to eat or food options at each restaurant. Same with the drinks. A lot of options (alcoholic, fruit smoothies, etc), and great servers/bartenders everywhere!
Definitely enjoyed staying on the Royal (adults only) side, as it gave us the freedom to experience the exciting atmosphere on the family-friendly side, but go back to a more relaxing kid-free zone whenever we wanted.
My ONLY complaint would be that it was very windy down by the beach during our entire stay, so we didn't get the chance to enjoy the beach as much, or any beach activities, such as using the kayaks, going snorkeling. or going out on a catamaran, etc.
Strongly recommend this resort to anyone! Families with kids (toddlers and teens alike), families with young adults/older children, or even couples (great for anniversaries, honeymoons, etc). Might be good for singles too, but didn't really check out the Pearl Beach Club.
Beautiful resort with immaculately maintained grounds and amenities. All the staff was friendly and anxious to please. We chose the all-inclusive (food, drinks, gratuity) "Bravo" adult side of resort. The family side is larger and just as beautiful. Adults have access to both sides, pools, restaurants, bars etc. We found the majority of food and drinks to be much better than expected based on some comments read before choosing.
Our suite was large and comfortable, but could have used a little TLC/renovation. A few items we noted upon arrival were promptly addressed.
The beaches are natural (yes, seaweed does wash ashore) and public (you may get approached by local vendors, but they were not persistent if you said, you were not interested).
This was our first all-inclusive resort and weighing cost to value, it more than meet our expectations. My wife and I are from the northern suburbs of Chicago and during our stay we met several interesting people from around the globe. Overall, we very much enjoyed our relaxing 7 day mini-vacay. I would definitely recommend.
For all inclusiveGood buffet food, friendly staff, beautiful island. Ala Carte restaurants can be hit or miss. Rodeo steakhouse was very good. "Terrace" Spanish tapas and bar had horrible service and bland food. Nice contemporary privileged tier rooms. It's a large complex so bring good shoes. Overall a positive experience. Would recommend.
Property was nice, hot water inconsistent, inadequate food choices for vegans. Marketing staff on premises keep pushing you to attend their presentation sometimes even stalking you.

Excellent visit. We had booked the honeymoon package which included all sorts of "extras" - dinner on the beach, 25-minute massage for 2, breakfast in bed. The staff at the resort were very friendly - and a special shout-out to Minerva at the Privileged check in desk. She went out of her way to make sure we were all set for our holiday. What also really impressed us was when anything needed to be attended to in our room (coffee maker didn't work, hammock was initially missing from the balcony), literally within 1 hour of reporting these, they were taken care of! We've never experienced such fast service for matters like these. Definitely recommend this resort!!

We spent a week here in mid-October. The room was decent. The bathroom door hardly closed and the bed was extremely hard. We received several bites and not sure if they were from something in the bed or not..
The service was awful. The staff was rude and seemed to completely ignore English speaking guests. We would have to wait longer than anyone else for drinks, tables, food etc.
The staff the sell tickets to excursions don’t listen and/or consider what you really want. They push excursions on you and are dishonest about how far away they are and what you do on the trips.
The food was disappointing at best. It was difficult to find healthy options. The restaurants were mediocre. Also, your only able to eat at 4. So your forced to fight the crowds the other nights to eat at the buffet.
The main positives were the large pool and evening entertainment.
Other than that, I would not recommend this resort nor would I ever visit again.
Absolute farce of a place. The rooms were a shambles with things such as : Poor plumbing, leaking aircon, termite infestations, literally shocking Jacuzzis (we electrocuted ourselves in it switching it on. Faulty corroded switch found after) . Even when we upgraded to a villa after leaving a room with a dripping toilet, a hot tub you cannot empty and a ceiling fan that sounded like a cement mixer wobbling away violently while spinning scarily above our heads. Beautiful country and people but very poorly run hotel. The food was also below average
Nice resort. My room was junior suite. Good for beach and pool. Big location so expect to be walking long walks. Food is ok. I would have liked it more if they had more variety of Dominican food.
The resort looked nice from the outside, but here are some points that should be mentioned and should not be a part of a resort that claims to be almost 5 stars.
1.Food is not good, worse that school cafeteria food by far
2.Rooms are not clean, my room had a ton of tiny ants. And the curtains had, what looked like blood spots. The plugs are surrounded by higher covers so not all plugs fit -make sure to bring extension cord if you even think of staying here. The showers are very very small and uncomfortable
3.I am not a smoker and the resort is smoke filledeverywhere from the lobby to the pool, to the beach
4.The staff was not friendly or helpful, no one ever has change and if they do they will short change you. Were not nice when we asked for a room change instead they offered to have pest control come in a fumigate I said, no thanks and they didn't like that I didn't want chemicals all over my room.
5.Drinks are watered down
6. If it rains, it floods all over the grounds so walking around gets uncomfortable or impossible.
Overall, if you want to come to Punta Cana I suggest you stay elsewhere. Last time I was here, I stayed at the Melia and that was a great place.
My family and I arrived on Thursday August 3rd, the hotel said they would up grade us for free. We get to the Villa 36 rooms 3645 and 3604, we dropped our stuff off and went to the pool this was around 330pm we come back around 6 to change for dinner and it's hot and muggy in the rooms. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone to check it out. I called three more times that night and the front desk gave me the run around. All they said they were trying to fix it the whole Villa is down that night I had to sleep with the room door open just to get a breeze.
I go to the front desk the next day and complain about the air conditioning. They tell me the same thing they are working on it I told them I wanted to be moved but they told me they have no more rooms available. They told me to come back after 1 to see if there are rooms opening up. But I told them I am going on an excursion I won't be back until 5 or 6. They said that's fine I come back and surprise surprise what does the front desk tell me it's too late to move you and no available rooms. No one wanted to give me a straight answer I asked to speak with a supervisor or a manager they said he left for the day really at 630pm on a Friday night one thing I know about hotels on the weekend there is a manager on duty the whole weekend. That whole night again I had to sleep in a hot, muggy, and damp room with the door open.
Finally on our last full day we moved at 4pm. And I was leaving the next day. I asked guest services if the can Compensate my family what do the offer me a bottle of wine No money back no free night stay nothing just a bottle of wine at an All-inclusive resort
So spend 2/3 of my nights in a hot muggy and damp room. With no compensation and no one at the front desk cared..
Punta Cana Review
This was my first visit to the Dominican Republic and my first experience at an all-inclusive. Nothing about this resort met my expectations.
The rooms are damp and humid. Our first room was musty and moldy, so bad that I needed to use an inhaler for my asthma. After requesting another room, we were shown three different rooms. The first two had the same problem - musty and moldy. The third room was better, but periodically smelled like smoke from another room.
If you are a non-smoker, good luck escaping second hand smoke. There are no designated smoking areas - be prepared for smoking on the grounds, at the pool, at the beach, and at some of the dining options.
The beach was disappointing. Although the staff tried to keep it clean, the beach was full of seaweed and only a small portion of the water was free of seaweed. Not the pristine, clear-watered beach I was expecting.
The food options were mediocre-nothing was great and the food had very little flavor. The tapas restaurant was very good, but the air conditioning was not working and it was incredibly hot and uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was good.
Be prepared for pushy salesmen who approach you immediately after checking in and regularly during your stay. They promise “free” this and “free” that to get you to a timeshare sales pitch.
Wi-fi is spotty, if you’re lucky enough to find a signal.
A few good notes:
The pools were nice. I preferred the infinity pool, which was less crowded and seemed to attract a calmer crowd.
The staff was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
No children.
Lastly, I recommend considering another location for your stay in the DR.
Just came back from this placegood friendly people but worst service I ever have! Dirty rooms with no AC for a week , could not be fix or put in another room???? Worst vacation I ever have!!!
The only reason this resort is not getting a 1 star review is because of the staff and the location, Hotel is run by people who simply don't care about the customers, we complained a couple of times about how dirty the room was and nobody cared, bathroom ALWAYS smelled like piss, doesn't matter how many it got cleaned.
A little bit of rain ruins the entire day, no draining system on a Resort THIS SIZE!!!!! Rain would clog up and fill up the walk ways to a point where you would have to walk on grass, imagine doing that with a stroller!
The smell of fish was overwhelming when the water with the fishes would overfill and you would see fish shell on the dining room floor, so disgusting!!!
Wouldn't go back if they paid me!!!!!!!!!
This would be a 4 star but the foods could have been better. I was so happy with the resort and the room. We has a great time and will come again but will also bring the kids, 4 star for the money, well worth it.
This was a really nice place for what my husband and I paid for. Our room was a little older but not a big deal since we didn't stay in the room much. There wasn't an elevator and no one helped us with our luggage or to find our room, you are left on your own for that part. The meeting set up for the following day was a waste of time so don't bother showing up. Our airline representative was busy so the tour guide/sales representative went through a few quick things but mostly trying to sell us his tour packages. At all times avoid the people in white uniforms with maravelo written on the top left of their shirt. They will try to sell you their Catalonia membership program and waste half of your day showing you what you can get if you upgrade and that happened on our first day of arrival. Bufffet, beach and everything else was great! Lots of liveliness and activities almost every hour. Staff were always available and efficient. I accidentally locked the safe and couldn't remember the password and the staff got to it and fixed it within 5 minutes. Also whenever we requested anything for our room they were on top of it. We would for sure visit again.
Buenísimo, loved it. Staff was very nice, food delicious and everything on point.
Good place, but they make me waste my time (half day) trying to make my buy a time sharing plan that I really don't want. Shame they have to lie and run some dirty marketing tricks to make more time. They should learn to respect the valuable time of his visitors. Also they promise me some souvenirs if give them my time, I got nothing.
Beach area is out of control, you are extremely lucky if you find a shadow or any spot. People "reserve" chairs by using towels and the managers really dont care.
Some employee in the sport area was rude and disrespectful.
Food was good. But due the really bad managers behavior I will not come back again.
This place is amazing! The staff is awesome, Noel and Lucia at the lobby bar and Francis at the pool bar provided excellent service all week. The resort is also well organized with plenty to do, drink and eat all over the grounds and beach. The one drawback that I can point out was the market night on Friday. The salesmen were extremely pushy (more than what is normally acceptable) to a point where we decided to make any detour possible to avoid the area. That being said my girlfriend and I had a wonderful vacation and would definitely return.
Wristband policy for all inclusive, not acceptable, rather provide id. Poor security, people eating in the pool. Some rude staff speaking spanish to other guests and colleagues about other holiday makers. Kinda backfires when you know Espanol. No professionalism. Nightclub only played spanish music, yet again not catering for their american and english guests. Italian restaurant was poor, steakhouse average, buffet ok, japanese and caribbean was very good however. Casino needs more marketing to hotel guest, e.g. poker shedule daily games etc. Some staff were very helpful and polite. Nice beach area and nice pool. Overall nice hotel with good grounds, location and atmosphere. But if the owner wants to keep american and english money coming in, they better start looking at evreybodys likes and needs instead of just the dominicans and puerto ricans. E.g they got served 1st at bar, got treated like royalty, was not warned by security even when breaking hotel policy and the nightclub music/dj. Unfortunately i will not be returing as this seems like a domincans/puerto ricans hotel. Every hotel should provide the same rules for every guest regardless of wether they speak spanish. Courtesy and consideration training needed for hotel staff as no matter what, professionalism is key to any business. If all these issues were resolved it would be a fantastic hotel.
