In general I'm against holding animals in an artificial surrounding. But this place is one of the best from what I can say. It's a great way to spend a day among animals we Europeans don't get to see live.
I also enjoy the aquarium and the planetarium. It's a place I like to go to if I want to calm my mind, even if it's an adventure for my children. The playground is great, the French fruits are crisp and when the weather plays along it's just good to be there.
Awesome place to experience a variety of animals freely living in conditions "almost" their natural habitats. Well connected by public transport (U-bahn, bus). One of the best places to spend a good day in Hamburg with family, friends, children
A very great zoo. They are spacious and green. Super worth it for the price, there are many interesting and exotic animals. I really love the polar area, where they're not only informations about animal, but also scientific knowledge. Was once there on a rainy/shower day but yet still had a great time.
The park it self is very big, all the animals seems to be in good conditions. Why I don't give them the last star, is because they charge extra money when using the bathroom or the one train ride for children. This should be free. The aquarium world actually gives you a wow effect. I'm glad we got combined tickets.
The perfect place to spend a great family day! Beautiful park, gardens and zoo! A must in Hamburg 💗
Very nice zoo, not as big as the zoo in Prague, but you can spend here 3-4 hours. Try to visit in not rainy day.
biggest zoo in Germany, a perfect place for a family with children to spend a nice day. the water park with penguins and sea elephants are just amazing, a family ticket of 85 euros for 2 adults and 2 kids for both parks are really worth it, the staff were really nice and friendly, my kids(age 7 and 4 )and us were very happy.
Love it here, great to see the animals. You are also able to feed some of them. Especially nice in the summer
Big and you can see the animals in very good health. I believe the spaces are big enough. The place is very easy to walk.
Not a very large zoo, but definitely a great one. Having lived most of my life in a Tropical Climate I was impressed with how their green house has a diverse group of animals available for viewing. Perhaps the best feature of this zoo, however, is the ability to hand feed the elephants and giraffes.
