When I walked out and saw the massive line waiting to get in, I just laughed haha Been to 6 out of the top 10 techno clubs in Berlin now and this is mediocre at bestBerlin has wayyy wayyy wayyy more to offer than Renatesorry ‘bout it! :-* Cool spaces tho, ill give you that.
It used to be a great venue but not anymore. Overcrowded. Poor face control. Overpriced. And the smell of urine in the corridors makes this place quite disgusting.
Went there with 3 friends on a random Saturday night. The staff is incredibly rude and arrogant (even for Berlin standards), drinks are heavily overpriced, music was terrible. The place is dirty, most parts stink, the interior is rather bland, completely uninteresting (google images are misleading). The crowd gives off a high school trip vibe (average age: 18-20) definitely nothing for mature folks (or anything older than that). After a few hours in there we felt that the suffering (music & smoke) was unbearable and left around 5 AM. Still regret having spent our precious night and around 100E for nothing there.
Overcrowded and simply not worth it. If you insist on going, remember you need a good shower to change clothes after being there due to the smoking stench.
In essence, this place is not worth the enterance fee, let alone the expensive drinks.
One of my favorite clubs in Berlin. Nice staff, nice people, cool venue, great music.
Everyone you meet are always nice and only wants to have a good time. It's the kind of place where both parties apologize and smile if you bump into each other.
Highly recommended.
once we got past the bouncer (minimal hassle, but i was in a group of three girls, one of whom spoke german) i encountered one of my favorite berlin club experiences! there was a room on each floor playing excellent techno music. although i went in march when it was too cold to linger outside, there was an extensive garden area that would be lovely in the warmer months. the bonfire glinted off the lights in the garden area and made the place seem magical.
the best part, though, were the people! i met so many people who eager to strike up a conversation, whether in line at the bathroom or on the dancefloor. It felt like everyone was there to dance, enjoy the music, and have a good time - no ulterior motives, pretensions, or hang-ups.
Was turned away at the door for reasons unknown to me and my friends. I don't know why you would give a quiz to people who haven't even been to Berlin before on "why did you come to this club". Poor way to do business and expand your customer base by turning away people at the entrance willing to spend money in your club.
To everyone who gave 1* because you were refused at the door and call them racist: This place is not racist.
Once inside you will notice that the majority (80%) of the people speak English.
Granted : bartenders are rude. But this is what I am dealing with in berlin since 2003.
Went to the red doors party and omg what pretentious people. Bar tenders also unfriendly (and i am a Berliner!)
The venue is a very typical berlinesque set up. Looks like an old berlin apartment turned into a club. Spread out over two floors. There were 2 dance floors and a few smaller rooms along with one room with a taro card reader named Michael (?). It was a fun experience for an extra charge.
The sound and the music itself were *horrible* on both dance floors. Everyone was overly sweaty and no ventilation system (it's common in berlin with the difference that the last 10 years all clubs are overly crowded and full of smoke)
I had 2 whiskey sours which where quite good for 8,50€. Entrance fee was around 15€
I like this club a lot! Every time the music was excellent. All the different types of rooms offer great music!
One of the craziest experience I had in my life, the venue is just amazing with a lot of corridors and small rooms, some of the best Soundsystems Ive ever heard and a friendly and passionated crowd. Highly recommended if you like underground electronic music.
