We visit every year in Bonn and we stay at the President hotel.We feel at home, the room is big enough, the bath room was renovated, the service is perfect with empaty.
The breakfast is rich and variegate

The hotel is well located, only a little walk away from the city centre, otherwise 3 🚌 lines also pass very frequently. The location is very enjoyable a wide choice of bars. The hotel is old and cosy but it's not enough for its 4****. It had a very welcoming reception staff, the room was functional and clean (the bathroom: very clean). There was no indication if there was any wifi. The cleaning staff were the nicest. The breakfast buffet was ok. The breakfast staff/ bar staff was NOT the nicest, not customer orientated at all, one member of staff was very rude.

Went there for drinks at the bar, service was good, the coffee, too. Outdoor seating is available in the back, the view from the front isn't the most beautiful, the location is split in a bigger room and more tiny ones,those are preferable.

Stayed for a long weekend and liked it. The only thing that really needs improvement is the car parking. The sub-terrain parking area is very small and (on weekends) very crowded. The space is very limited and the parking lots are quite small. There is more parking space on ground level though, such that it is barely ok. Still not very comfortable. But what really annoyed me is that on my arrival as well as on my departure the short-parking area in front of the Hotel (Ladezone) is always packed with cars that have often nothing to do with the Hotel at all. People that go to the local stores use this area to park their cars there, also for longer periods of time. The Hotel personnel, however, does not seem to care at all. I had to carry all my luggage a longer way because of this. The Hotel should place somebody in front of the house to make sure that only cars that need the parking park there.

Hotel services were average rooms seemed a bit subpar for a 4 star hotel. But this is not related to my complaint.

Upon my arrival hotel blocked the price amount for my stay on my card telling me that it will be charged after my check out.

When I was checking out from the hotel I was asked to pay for the stay. I told them that the amount was already blocked but hotel staff was requesting me to pay anyway. I had not enough money on the card due to already blocked amount so I had to pay with another credit card. Now the situation is that even after I paid for the stay the money on my first bank account is still blocked. My bank told me that it might take 20-30 days to unblock the amount!

I basicaly feel like paying twice as I cant use the blocked amount until this is solved between bank and the hotel. If you plan to stay in the hotel for more nights and something like this happens to you it can be quite significant sum of money.

I haver never experienced such strange practices in other hotels in Bonn therefore my low rating.
