An unfriendly place for people who don’t look Bavarian and don’t speak German. The waitress was rude and told us to go somewhere else just because we asked if they had mullet wine. If you are not blonde buy a blonde wig before going there.
Food and drink are excellent here, if possible one should definitely take the chance to sit in the Biergarten outside. The service on the other hand was excrutiatingly slow (so much so that members of our party got very irritated).
Not too expensive, adequate food, obviously great beer, good service.
Expensive but worth a visit. Traditional German food. Although for main course they only have one vegetarian dish. That's sad. But, the food is great. Hard to find a spot most of the times as this place is highly popular amongst local population. Worth a visit!!
I went to this place with a group of colleagues from office. Everyone was super happy with the large meals they were served. I had the fish and it was awesome. The place offers a good range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
Food ok, service horrible. Bad value for the money.
A little pricey, but the Löwenbräukeller offers delicious food as well as kind and fast service in a nice setting.
Beer was good, but €3.50 for 40cl of water? No thanks. The atmosphere was okay, but the service was atrocious. We waited 20 min to have our orders taken only after having to get up and ask someone to do so. Then after we paid the bill our server thought it was okay to pocket €1.20 tip, that we had to ask for as change.
Just buy beer. This place isn't good for anything else.
Big, old, beautiful beer hall that is quieter than many of the others around Munich. I'm not sure what exactly it is about this place but it boasts a sort of homespun feel that I really like. I can't comment on the food (thus only the four stars) but the beer was fresh and the atmosphere (a mix of locals, regulars, nearby workers, and tourists) was great. There is also an outdoor, self-service, area which they kit out with a fire, ice bocce (I'm sure there is a German word for this!) and a tent in the winter.
Tip: The space is HUGE and they often host events to celebrate big holidays like New Year's Eve. Check out their website for details.
Amazing meal with a quieter atmosphere. We ate here twice during our stay and the meals were amazing, service fantastic and the beer was good. The only thing lacking was some kind of background music or band. It isn't crazy busy like the Hofbrauhaus and has a more 'upmarket' feel but we enjoyed it with our group of friends. I have to say it was the best roast pork and crackling I have ever eaten.twice!
