Overall, the hotel was good. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The room was nice too. Minus one star though because unfortunately the WiFi was pretty bad. But other than that, we had a good stay. 😊
Fantastic hotel, good value, friendly staff. Highly recommended. Quiet and clean rooms. Good service. Decent breakfast. Right next to the train station, but you can't hear anything from the trains at night so you will get a good rest. Walk to the hotel from the station is short, and right past the police station, so it's totally safe. Car parking at the nearby "Hotel Trio". They also offer connecting rooms, so it's great for families too.
Pros:
Staff is very helpful, location is great (near the main central station), breakfast is good. The room is quite comfortable.
You can check-in using their app, so you won’t need to stop at reception to do the whole check-in process. You can actually just arrive and go straight to the room.
Cons:
Parking is expensive, it costs €20 per day. Leaving your car on the street is not an option, as there aren’t enough parking spaces nearby the hotel.
The bathroom does not have a shower glass door, so every time you take a bath, the whole bathroom gets wet.
If you like staying at places with poor customer service then this is the place for you. They charged us £650 AFTER we checked out of the premises without any prior warning or justification for the charge. We have tried constantly to get this resolved but Anna the manager doesn’t seem to be interested in customer service. Their staff were on a whole, useless. Half of them by their own admission are massively undertrained and the other half are just plain ignorant. Don’t try and get a drink anytime near midnight, even if the bar is open, because the Herbert on the front desk gets ratty when he’s tired and won’t serve you but will just stand there giving you daggers until you go to bed. This man in particular picked several fights with different members of our party for no reason
UPDATE - Please IGNORE the owners response to this as it is a blatant lie to protect their own reputation. They are still refusing to provide the signed invoice because they have conveniently lost it. They kept our card details, charged us an extra £650 after we left and are refusing all our attempts to get in contact and have this money back. We have been coming to Düsseldorf every year since 2015 and usually stay at the Leonardo Hotels, this is a far better hotel. We have never had an issue with these guys in the entire time we have been staying, and more importantly they don’t keep your card details after you vacate the premises to line their own pockets. If you are going to stay here, I strongly suggest you book with Leonardo Hotels.
Had a great room over looking the railway which was fine for us. Clean, tidy and friendly hotel. Perfect for exploring North Rhine Westphalia.
Breakfast gets busy.
