We returned to this site after six years, took the children when very small. Did notice it was very busy and a group of teenagers wandered one night , waking all around and they were a nuisance, being very noisy and kept us awake until 3am. Shame that some can be so selfish. However we love Kirchzarten itself, quaint little village and well positioned for the summer toboggan run at Todnau. So that was the prupose of our visit. Didn't have time to try the pool. A good site although very busy with families having fun and lots of children around. On the whole everyone settles by midnight so the teens were an exception. Maybe security could be in contact to prevent noisy groups?
This is a really nice site with excellent facilities but it was extremely busy. The pitches were a bit small so we were unable to put up the awning and it was tight to manoeuvre the caravan onto the pitch. However, the weather was great and we did have some shade on our pitch so the lack of awning wasn't a problem. The facilities block was extremely well appointed and kept spotlessly clean. Hot water for dishes, washing & drying facilities, hot showers, hair dryers, wifi etc. What more could you want. There appeared to be activities for younger children, also a small shop selling essentials and a bar/restaurant. The staff who booked us in/out were lovely and polite and very professional. The town is very pleasant and has everything you could need. Next door to the site is a freibad with 3 pools, a paddling pool and water slide. On arrival you pay a deposit for a wrist band for the freibad, which is returned at the end of the stay - entrance to the park is included in the price of your stay. Our pitch backed onto this and although it got busy we didn't hear much noise - although a couple of nights there were events there which were noisy, setting off fireworks at midnight! The local area was also lovely, although Freiburg was exceptionally busy with lots of road works taking place in the town centre. Also included in the price of your stay is a visitors card which gives free access to rail and bus services in the Schwarzwald. It also gives discounts on some local attractions. All in all, I would recommend this site for someone who wants a busy, active holiday. If you're looking for a rest and some peace and quite then this is not for you - certainly not in August anyway!
Nice camping, lots of nice activities for the kids, good service, lots of Dutch people and most of all, a really nice atmosphere.
Very Good, well appointed site. A bit pricier than some, but the extra cost easily offset by the free transport pass included for the whole area-bus, train and tram. The village itself is sizeable and has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Freiburg is a short train journey using the pass. Last train decently late. It's been added to our best list.
Little town and very beautifull place. Weather is very good. I am living here from 2 years.
Topcamping
Fantastic site, great location and excellent mini disco.
Great campsite near Freiburg and in the heart of the Black Forest. In the price is a transportation ticket included to use the train and also the bus to travel to different Black Forest spots. The pitches are big enough and the installations are very clean. There is also animation during the morning and Mini disco in the afternoon.
The town is nice and the surroundings are very interesting to know them by bike, running or walking.
Excellent camp site. Thoroughly recommended
Kirchzarten is a lovely little town. The camping site is at a walking distance from the city center and the main station. The toilets were clean and tidy, the rented caravans were also good with all the stuff needed already present. There is a big swimming pool with diving area and slides for kids. A nice relaxing weekend get away.
