A must-see if you are visiting München! Beautiful Baroque decor is absolutely breathtaking. Wrought iron gates were closed so I couldn't go further than the vestibule, but worth seeing nevertheless.

This church is overwhelming, but beautifully baroque. You'd never know the gross splendor that lies inside by looking at the exterior. It's entirely overdone with baroque architecture and your eye darts around, unsure of where to look. But, for that reason, it's worth a quick stop. And, it's right in the old town so easy to get to.

This is a narrow, small church on a pedestrian shopping street. The exterior is ornate and is eclipsed by the decor visible indoors. The inside entrance is grated, but you get the idea, Angels and other religious symbols are here in a display honoring the glory of God. Also, look for skulls as a reminder of mortality.

Looked pretty from the outside (and inside, when I peaked in through a window). Sadly, it was closed when I got there. 😭

Amazing church but they do not provide any services and the front altar is blocked. A most see if you are in Munich. What a wonderful experience.

Beautifully done, small church. Amazing carved marble and thr ceiling is painted as if it is a dome, yet flat. Worth the visit.

Extremely impressive. Watching from the outside, this church would be easy to miss. This is because this church was actually made by the Asam brothers for private use, and it looks incorporated to the other buildings around it. The brothers where a sculptor and a fresco artist, so they bought 4 buildings, two of which they turned into a private church. These where the central two, and they where connected to the church. For example, Egid Quirin Asam could watch the altar through a window of his private house next to the church (Asamhaus).
The church is simply breathtaking. You will need at least half an hour or a whole hour for this little 22x8m church. It is packed with details, and every single detail is filled with beauty. It is considered to be one of the most important buildings of the southern German Late Baroque, and I can see why. Don't miss it!response / report this review -
