A modern friendly hotel, where staff performed brilliantly, always with a smile, very courteous. The hotel has had a refurbishment bringing it up-to-date, although they are still working on a few areas, which I understood will be finished in 6 months or so. (Spring 2018). A very relaxing part of the world; surrounded by meadows, mountains and lakes. Sheer tranquility! The piano player was brilliant (although he does not play every evening). They have a chef who would give the top London chefs a run for their money. The wine list was comprehensive and the waiters were knowledgeable and full of good suggestions. For artists out there Kandinsky and Munter’s house is a stone’s throw away. The Frank Marc Museum is a short drive away, if the Blue Rider works are your cup of tea, book your stay now. Should you need a break to clear you head from city life, this is the place for you and your family, bring the dog too. Claim back your Zen.

Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is located in a peaceful and beautiful landscape and it is a walking distance from the town centre. I particularly liked the facilities in the spa and wellness area with a choice of saunas, outdoor as well as indoor swimming pools. The reception area is welcoming and well decorated.

Could not be more happy with this hotel! The interior has a very high end finish (especially in the lounge/bar area) the facilities are great and live music in the evening comes as an extra bonus! The food was always super fresh and delicious.
The hotel will also be able to arrange some excursions for you like bicycle trips and hikes. There are also some bikes that you can use as a hotel guest to stroll around the beautiful are of Murnau. Would definitely stay again!

Note to those from the US who like their nice and comfortable 59F - no air con in the rooms! The hotel relies on the old school construction of the building i.e. thick walls of the building which are meant to keep the rooms cold works surprisingly well:)

We stayed there for one night and instantly regretted it not to be able to spend another few days at this wonderful hotel. The spa area is relaxing and with an indoor and outdoor pool well equipped. The service is extraordinary and also the restaurant is worth a visit. You will receive a delicious meal for your money, but be ready to spend some $$$$. An enormous breakfast buffet concluded our five star experience!
