During our vacation we were affected by hurricane irma. The evacuation was completely unorganized and chaotic and way too late. They told us we are save but then we had to leave at last. Memories exists as well in Havana but they evacuated us to a different, dirty Motel. Overall the stuff was mostly friendly except for the beach restaurant (tip before you take a seat so you may do not spend hours to get a burger..). The buffet was good for cuban buffets. The sea is very stony so if you like a nice beach and are not interested in Coral reefs go to Varadero instead! The rooms were clean and comfortable but outdated (as usual for Cubans). They had no Mint during our stay so no Mochito at this hotel! We were shocked 😁. Almost only 2 stars but I understand Irma was something "new" to everyone so here you go .. 3 stars.

If we are above the age of 45 and do not want to party, this is the perfect place because it's like a retirement home. This place is very very very boring when it comes to partying. The food is horrible I did not eat anything just bread and fruits. They can't even cook veggie's properly. However, the service is still good.
Trust me young people go somewhere else. Like grand momories. Don't waste your money. There is nothing to do here.response / report this review -

Fun resort friendly staff. Great food. Beach is rocky and the sand isn't smooth. It's a diving resort.

Very disappointing stay. Based on the reviews I read I had expected something a lot better. The WI-FI was not free and did not work in the rooms. Only in the lobby area which was a pain in the butt and for the most part it did not work there either! Most fo the staff were rude and unpleasant to deal with. Very poor customer service in most departments of the hotel. The food was OK for Cuba but some days it was all left overs. Very old and noisy A/C unit which never worked. Every day it broke down in our room and we then had to wait hours for it to work again. The spa was over priced. Nice beach but could have been cleaner and not enough sunbeds. Lots of free entertainment but the evening entertainment was boring for the most part. I think this resort is overpriced and over rated. Tired and old looking rooms and the mattress was terrible. My back is still hurting! Laundry was too expensive. Free yoga with exellent teachers. Our room was quiet and the entire resort was peaceful and a huge plus it is adults only. So no screaming annoying kids on the premises jumping in and out of the pool. Wonderful! Shower was not very good. Large room and balcony. Safebox in the rooms and a fridge with fresh bottled water every day. The cleaning was good. Nice pool and garden areas. Only a few international TV channels. Check in was fast. Terrible exchange rate at the front desk but nowhere else to change money in the area. Very quiet area which is what we wanted. May be too quiet for some people.

Stayed here november 2015 and wanted to go back last year but place was full. We had a fantastic time. The beach and snorkeling was amazing with great beach bar and food. Rooms were good. Dated, but at end of the day its somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep to me thats all that matters. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK IN NOVEMBER.new snorkle and fins already packed.

My third visit to this beautiful resort but not my last ! The staff here are fantastic and work really hard to make your stay enjoyable. The gardens are immaculately kept with an army of gardeners working from dawn to dusk. The entertainment staff put on some fantastic shows and a visit to the Piano Bar after the show is a must.
The only negative is that the Buffet isn't air conditioned and relies on windows being left open to keep the temperature down and this leads to birds flying in and out of the restaurant which could be a health hazard. The hotel has a number of restaurants which are air conditioned but these require advanced booking.
The Beach Bar serves food from midday to late afternoon and the food is always freshly cooked.
A trip to Havana is a must. The tour guides advise against using the local taxis, however, I've been to Havana twice using the taxis which park a short distance from the hotel and have had a good experience on both occasions - and car sharing certainly keeps the price down - most of the taxis employ a guide who will accompany you around Havana and give you a far greater insight into Havana life than would ever be the case on a group tour. A visit to La Bodeguita del Medio - one of Ernest Hemingway's favorite bars - is a must as is the Hotel Nacional de Cuba with its fine art deco interior.
A couple of tips:
Many things are in short supply in Cuba due to the embargo so always take a few items with the intention of leaving them behind on your return. These can include items of clothing such as t-shirts for children and coloured pencils, books and pencil sharpeners etc.
Some airlines now allow you to take a 'humanitarian' case in addition to your luggage so its worth checking in advance and always check that what you're taking is relevant and required and establish contact in advance with an organization to receive the supplies when you arrive.

Absolutely amazing, beautiful beach, wonderful staff and just so much to do! The entertainment staff are brilliant, there is something for everyone day and night. Can't wait to go back!

Love this place. Staff are awesome. Considering it is Cuba and the limited resources there, they do the best they can with what they have. I will go back here for sure.

I enjoyed staying here immensely, the food was good, the staff was very nice, WiFi was not great, but i think that's true all over Cuba. I'd recommend this to anyone who's after a relaxing vacation. Definitely check out Havana, and the restaurant up the road.
