The apartments are fine, they come with induction stoves except there's no pot, so bring your own, I guess. We asked one to the staff at 1 pm; it came at 5 pm, good luck with that.
They were even so nice to gift me some fecal matter and pubic hairs from the previous guest. Also NO HANDSOAP AND TOILET PAPER (bear in mind that there is no bidet). I asked for a roll but I was told that the maid would only come at 9 am. I guess you have to schedule your pooping sessions.
There is WiFi internet but it does not work
Good quiate place
Excellent quality of service, location and scene was GREAT! Had great fun there. Not forcefully trying to control where I can eat. One big concern people have is the coverage of wifi, I stayed at the apartment side and wifi coverage was perfect the whole time, let alone the offer was great, room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Every question that I had they have an answer, everytime I ask for anything they helped. This level of service only exist in 5 stars hotels in North America.
the bedding sheet was never changed, I found hair and some dirty dot on it. I got fungal infections of my hands and I got allergy all over my legs.
I am a dog person, I never got the allergy from dog's hair, but I got the allergy from hotel's dirty bedding sheet. I can even smell the dust on it. my friend got allergy and also the rhinitis. horrible!!!
For the North American standards it's a three star hotel. Apartamentos is a part of the huge Melia Marina hotel.
The ocean view is nice and it's fairly clean except some minor details like the carpets in the room and the kitchen appliances.
The stuff is not the friendliest one but there are employees that they are extremely helpful. The reception ladies will never do the extra step to help you, the gold cart drivers are usually sneaking around so you have to search for them before transporting you and the maids are very polite and hard working.
The food in nothing special in the whole marina complex.Don't do the all inclusive deal if your stomach is sensitive. They "recycle" the food for couple days.
Prefer the pool in the main hotel which is a 5' ride with the golf car inside the marina area.
In this hotel be aware of the morning shift bartender(Osmani) he is going to inflate the prices for his benefit if you are not careful but the lady in the kitchen is extremely nice.
In the main hotel lobby (not the apartamentos) you will also find a currency exchange office in case you want to exchange some money.
If you want to book some trips around Havana or jeep safari or catamaran cruises ask from the reception the folder that has all the details and prices. Ahmed is the guy to help you organize everything and he is in the hotel from 10am-3pm.
The apartment we stayed in was nice but it's very far off from everything.
Top quality apartments in the best location in Cuba!
DO NOT BUY INTO THE CLUB MELIA MARINA CUBA. We purchased and our first stay the hotel had no hot water for five days along with other issues with the room, air conditioning did not work before they finally moved us to appropriate accommodation. We have since been trying to recover the points for that trip and they are only defiant. They seem to be a separate entity of their own that even Melia customer service cannot deal with.
Newer resort with great views and a small commercial center right in the middle. We had to change rooms on the first day because the balcony door would not lock and we were on the ground level. The second room had the same issue but we didn't care since we were now on the 5th floor. The room was fairly clean and the amenities were very good by Cuban standards. The pool was right beside the building but the beach was about a 10 minute walk.
We were happy to opt out of the all inclusive as the few times we bought food from the resort snack bars we were severely disappointed. The seafood restaurant in the marina was good but very pricey. We attempted to try the other restaurants but they always closed early and even had their water shut down on once occasion.
I have mixed opinions on the staff as some of the employees were very helpful while other were the exact opposite. Overall, this resort is above the Cuban average but I highly advise against getting the all inclusive. Varadero is full of amazing restaurants that are owned by locals and not the state, making the trip much more authentic but also helping the local economy.
Only downside was probably the staff! Lovely room. Nice pool. Great view!
Built in 2013 it was nice and clean. I would give it 4 stars but in cuba could even be 5 stars. 7 minute walk to beach. Right next to 4 restaurants and a few bars. On one end of the marina is the apartments, on the other is the all inclusive Melia Marina Resort. There is a pool with a bar at the apartment.
