Nice new hotel right by the beach and water. Has a great view from the pool by the lobby. The buffets do get tiring after awhile like many all inclusive, and the ala carte restaurants are not that good unfortunately. The water pressure for the showers are amazing and among the best I've had. There were some small termite like bugs around in my room on the wooden desk though which might be a common problem down there. The staff were all very friendly and nice.

We just came back from Cuba and this is the Hotel we stayed at. We had a wonderful time. However, night time is very boring, no night life, the shows and acts were boring! Apart from David the Magician, who did a wonderful job. The food, as expected, wasn't all that, same thing every day really, no variety. The staff were very friendly and quick to help us with any problem. The beach is stunning and easy and quick to get to! The staff at the beach were really friendly always making an effort with everyone. Overall a good experience . And would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a nice and relaxed holiday.

The hotel is amazing, very clean, staff is very friendly. Our maid Ismary was very nice. The beach and pools are awesome.
The food was fantastic. The breakfast at the buffet was amazing. For lunch we ate hot dogs, hamburgers and fries at the snack bar by the pool. For dinners we mostly went to the buffet which was delicious.response / report this review -

This place was awesome. Beds were hard and deserts did not taste good. The rest was very good. The service was unbelievable. The pool bar persons were so great. Good job Yos and crew :). We will definitely give a good word :)

Very clean resort and friendly staff. The nightly shows were great (dance, circus, magic, musicals). It lives up to its name. The view of the ocean is magnificent, especially from the main lobby bar. The food is ok. The staff at the buffet is very friendly.

The place is nice but a lot of the inclusive services aren't great. The food was in classic Cuban fashion (not amazing) and I fell sick upon return to Canada. also felt as if the staff dislikes anyone under 30.

Very nice staff, good food, very clean, swimming pools also very clean. Italian restaurant is excellent. Evening shows often had a professional dance group perform that was excellent. Entertainment staff also excellent. I would recommend this resort.

There's 5* then there's 5*! A beautiful hotel and grounds. Warm and friendly staff who can't do enough to help you during your stay. Food in the Al a carte restaurants were nice. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough!!

Food rubbish. service rubbish .entertainment rubbish. Wood never go back .we went for 2wks and it didn't get any better .towels for the beach ran out and we had the same one for 3 days. Food in restaurant cold every night .toasters didn't work for the entire holiday..beach photos were deceiving as were only allowed part of it as the rest belonged to hotel next door ..rep also rubbish as he was supposed to turn up at 9am until 10am but turned up at 9.20am .so we had to ask another rep for information.

Simply amazing! Beautiful and clean! Stayed Sep 30 to Oct 7/17. Resort is centrally located in Varadero, close taxi or bus ride to town.
Staff is friendly and sincere, especially Iris at the buffet! Only downsides is the bars. you don't get the best service unless you have money showing so they see they will be getting a tip.

The hotel was good but the room service was horrible the waitress on duty and almost all the waitresses talked to me and treated me badly and with attitude when i got my room i found a dirty plate and a dirty glass on a drawer and they didn't put no soap and no water neither drinks in my room when i was thirsty i had to go to the bar and i called reception telling them all of that and that i needed room service and they told me they were in their way but never came. Other than that everything else was really good the pools nice the bars to i gave 2 stars because of the room service and the waitresses situation but the hotel in general a 4

As Cuban standards go this is modern hotel. Rooms are fresh and clean,the hotel is spread out over a cliff and has two Beach's one big that serves alcohol, and one small that serves food and drink. The restaurants are all in block 8 apart form the seafood. The food is OK just typical all-inclusive. Two pools and a infinity pool witch is nice just outside the lobby were Jimmy the number one bar man can make cocktails. Nice place to sit and watch the sun set in the evening

Im so surprised to see 4 stars on average for this place. I was there 1 week ago and the service is horrible. They are understaffed. I had to argue with A la carte dining everyday to get a table and everyday they would lie straight to my face. I can live with crap food and rubbish minibar or room service. But lying to my face and the disrespect we got everyday gave me the motivation to write this review. Amazing beach but terrible service. I traveled a lot and stayed in many resorts. Never have I experienced something like this! Save your money and stay away!

Awesome Hotel. Staff goes out of their way to help and assist you. Need to understand the Cuban limitations to understand how good the hotel and service staff are able to surpass our expectations. I will return in a couple of years.

Ocean Vista Azul surpassed my expectations. The welcome was very friendly and unlike any that I've experienced from any hotel and I am a hotel enthusiast. The front desk staff Ana Marie provided prompt and amazing customer service. Daniel was a charm throughout my entire stay and made it feel personable even though it was a large resort. If you are going to book, I recommend that you book the privilege room type. You will be treated like a STAR! The maid Yaima made sure my ocean view room facing the infinity pool was clean and stocked with towels. I cannot wait to go back and relax in this modern and beautiful hotel. Visiting Cuba and staying at this hotel really left me wanting to visit once a month. Again, thank you for a pleasant and unforgettable stay.

We visited this hotel in November -December 2016. We had a lovely room, very clean and the staff were marvelous. We have since tried to get hold of this hotel's management to no avail. We mailed parcels twice to staff at the hotel, Nestor and Yoalkys and we have never heard from them so we believe the parcels did not arrive to them. I wanted the management to ask them and the hotel has not replied. Please reply to us as we feel very bad that the parcels did not get to the staff who helped us so much. Art & Dorothy Ball

Went here for a wedding in March/April 2017. Nice place, very clean. The bartenders at the pool bar were amazing, and the buffet was much better than most places. I don't typically like beaches (I'm more of a pool bar guy) But the beaches were very nice. Lot's of activities on the larger beach. The bartenders in the lobby bar typically had a bad attitude, except William. He was our go to guy. Stay away from the Italian Restaurant. Overall a great trip. If you get tired of the resort food, check out Atlantida in Santa Marta ($10 cab ride). We went there a couple of times from Lunch/Supper. Some of the best/freshest food in Cuba for under $10 per person) The manager Felix speaks perfect English, and is one of the nicest people you will meet.

Beautiful surroundings, tragically disappointing food. It is recycled throughout each meal. The same shrimp you'll see on the cold bar at lunch for instance, will show up at one of the 3 restaurants for dinner, recooked with a 'sauce' + again the next day at lunch in paella. A 2 night stay is a bit too long. Gorgeous suites, beautiful beaches but a long way to go with inconsistencies. No 2 cocktails are mixed the same. Some quality control is certainly in order. That said, the people who work here are beyond delightful. It's a shame that the food + drinks are where they fall short.

Restaurant, bar and pool staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome.
Rooms were large, clean and well soundproofed with comfortable beds and powerful showers.
The pool was a bit on the cold side, but there are loads of beds and loungers for relaxing.
The food isn't great, but that's not specific to this resort - its Cuba!
The reception staff were generally grumpy and unhelpful.
By Cuban standards, this is a really good resort at a decent price. By 'rest of the world' standards, it is pretty average.response / report this review
