I had never been to Cuba before so going to this place worried me But the minute we got to the resort, I could see how friendly the staff was and how clean the place was.
The entire 2 weeks there was a dream, not one moment of doubt or complaint. The rooms are nice and clean, the staff is respectful. The Food was good (despite the lack of seasoning's due to trade embargo the Cubans don't have many spices to work with, most people say the food is not good in Cuba but that's because they are used to having variety of spices in their food if you go just bring a tiny bottle of Tobacco sauce, don't worry once your there you will see everyone doing the same)
The fact that you can visit all four resorts is great too, the beach is clean and right on the resort. If you do only one excursion when your there make it the Coco Beach trip (its where Madonna wrote her song Isla Bonita about). The Lobster dinner there is to die for.
The second time we went we took the kids, and they had a blast, the entertainment staff is on hand 24/7 and they take care of the kids activities from 8am to 9pm not once did I have to worry about the kids.
We also took the Camaguay City tour which was a blast too. Lots of culture and history to see.
Overall I give this place 2 thumbs up, It has now become my second home after a few visits, the second time I went there, the Entertainment staff immediately recognized me and welcomed be back they even remembered our names (this was over 1 yr later)

Staggeringly RUDE front desk! Requested front desk to call us a taxi, response was, "None available", ro to road and flag one down. Came back ten minutes later and was told phone only takes incoming calls. "But you just said you called out for a taxi !!".
This was the ONLY rude person we experienced on a ten day trip to Cuba.

This is my favorite hotel in Santa Lucia!
Mainly due to the amazing entertainment / animation team and the kids club!!
Since the new management took over in 2017 the name changed to ROC Santa Lucia.
The quality of the shows at night is very good, the dance group and the two house bands are incredible!!!! The artistic director (Raymel) is excellent and the head of the animation team (Mario) is one of the best I have met in Cuba!
The kids club is great! Bonbon is fantastic with the kids!!!!
The food in the buffet restaurant was very good. Much better than in Brisas! And I prefer the light ambiance of the restaurant.
This hotel also has the widest beach! Great for kite surfing!
There were VERY little people at the hotel since the new management has raised the hotel rates. And even with that, the animation team always did ALL the activities and put on full shows!
I definitely want to come back. Just hope the prices will fit my budget :)response / report this review -

What a lovely resort and experience at the Roc Santa Lucia. Enjoyed my stay very much, staff was very respectful and attended to all needs. The entertainment was very beautiful as well. Great service on restaurants and bar. Special thank you to, 'Reynaldo' for his courtesy and making my stay comfortable. Thank you all.

It if had not been for our Sunwing representative and the Hotel great representative, it would have been a real nightmare.
Staff at lobby was ok but clearly not welcoming neither friendly.
Food was tasteless and don't expect hygiene to be respected. They sent cold pre-cooked pasta with multiple flies (over 10) on it to be heated in sauce, actually making a spaghetti with flies meat.
Room filed with small red ants, tainted/ stained sheeting and towels, dried blood on bed sheetings, stained and mold on wooden furniture + bathroom, dangerously rusted and broken soap holder in the shower, multiple other insect in the 2 other room they offered us, pool bar using unclean water to make drinks with pool water falling in the glasses.
Beaches was ugly as well, but there's a close on that's nice.

Most amazing vacation yet! Staff was so friendly towards everyone, the food was good even though it's basically the same all the time, rooms were small but kept clean, not like you would stay there all day. And the kids were all ways able to do something, they all met and and made new friends, you can visit the local shops the Cubans have, and just a tip; if you have old clothes, shoes or anything like that, bring that and pay/trade for souvenirs, because they can use those instead of money (pesos), because they hardly get paid anything, we did that and they were so happy! We brought an entire suitcase! Also, bring your own refillable cups/bottles because the drinks offered are served in small cups, and we were going to the bar a least every 5 minutes to get more slushies! All in all, a great place to take kids or just go with a friend or partner.

We had a great time. I'm giving 5 stars, not because it is a 5 star hotel (it is a very good 3 star hotel) but because it is great value for the money. we paid a little under $800 per person for our all inclusive vacation which is about half of what a mexican vacation would have cost. When you visit Cuba you must be able to overlook certain thingsthe room decor was old cuban the mixed drinks were not great, the beer was good, the coffee is always excellent. There was always more than enough delicious food in the buffet, desserts were very good. The "à la carte" restaurants are not very good, but you can go to the 4 star hotel just next door if you wish, which was nice, but not significantly better. The entertainers are very nice; volleyball, aquagym, dance lessons, spanish lessons, silly competitions (not for everybody) We took a bicycle ride in the village, pedal boat, diving gear everything was fine. The week went by too fast

Been here 3 times. Love it. The staff and entertainers are very friendly and speak fluent English for the most part. Before and after their shifts they visit and talk about their way of life and ask us about ours. Love how they interact with the guests. The food is great. Lots to choose from. Lobby bar makes the best Spanish coffees and cappachino. Rooms are clean. Pool is great. As a repeat customer we were given a special lunch and thanked for our patronage. Close to the beach. Lots of activities if you choose to do them. Only thing I would like to see improved is railings on the stairs. I see people saying that they weren't served water or drinks in the buffet. We left a peso or 2 most meals. We never had trouble with being served. I also never found any bugs or cockroaches in our room. There was a little gecko one day but he was harmless and found his way out.

What can we say, well this was the 21st time in Cuba and the Gran Club is not somewhere you would like to be.Let me start with the bars if you drink a lot or a little they keep running out of things very early and don,t care. The buffet service if you what wine or water find someone that will help you and sit there everyday or you will be helping yourself.If you like the people from Quebec it,s for you if not get ready to be pushed and pushed. Now if you like ala cart get ready to get a mixed up supper and very poor service and rushed out the door same food on buffet only you help yourself. Nite time walk back to your room bring a flash light or you will be limping back home very poor lighting. Keep your eyes on the ground or you will be falling lots of uneven walks and steps. Overall very quiet lots of hiding spots to read. Myself would not return have stayed at better 2 stars.

I would give this place 4.5 if I could. Let me start by saying that this hotel had many problems but if you can get over l the small minor things you are going to have one of the most greatest Cuban authentic experience. Gran Club is located 5 minutes from a small Cuban town that you can visit with free bikes they provide you. The staff is amazing and the shows are great. The rooms where really nice but had minor problems (doors that don't close properly, shows heads that are a bit funky). They were renovating the place when I went there but there were still many little things that need fixing (water fountain not working, bathroom doors not closing, toilet seats missing in some of the public bathrooms ) The food like every other place in Cuba is hit or miss. I found that the stuff they has was tasty but they has verry little option specially for breakfast. I ended up eating eggs the whole week they were good mind you. The a la carte restaurants were most of the time really amazing.
