Beautifully amazing! So glad I got to stay here there is so much wild life on the property! We saw monkeys sloths and iguanas everyday! Our concierge Andreas made the trip so easy and fun for us! Please check this place out you won't regret it

This resort was amazing! The level of service was off the charts. Orlando was our concierge for the week and we felt so spoiled. He was more than happy to schedule dinner reservations, arrange car service, baby sitters and excursions. I have never felt so pampered. All of the staff were extremely friendly and so wonderful with our children. I was shocked how interactive they were with our 1 year old. It was such a huge help! The food and drinks were delicious. We were so happy to see so many monkeys and sloths without leaving our resort. We will definitely be back soon!

The resort is beautiful. It has an amazing private beach and tons of wildlife naturally live among the bungalows and condos. Would definitely stay again.

This resort is very different from the usual style of hotel that we have become used to. My wife and I had a standard room in a small villa set away from others and by careful planning it appears when you sit on the balcony that you are alone in the rainforest. The balcony is the big feature of the room, here you can sit in comfort looking at wild monkeys, macaws, butterflies and humming birds, we also saw when walking around the grounds sloths, agoutis and an abundance of smaller wildlife.
The room itself was large with twin queen beds a bathroom with a large walk-in shower and a small kitchenette containing a fridge, sink and a small microwave.
We stayed for a week and are grateful for the efficient services of Gary our concierge for arranging our tours. Most of the tours were run by outside companies and where appropriate I will write about them under the company’s name, one however was run by the hotel itself. This was the tour to the Manuel Antonio National Park and we were escorted by Viviana, an expert in finding wildlife. If it had not been for her we would have walked through the park and seen nothing but a few monkeys and some butterflies. Viviana had a small telescope on a tripod with which she discovered all sorts of animals and where there was time she would take photographs of the telescope image with my mobile phone and they were very good.
The restaurant was well placed in the centre of the resort and the staff were excellent serving meals throughout the day but I would suggest that for an European in Costa Rica, avoid the beef.
The Tulemar had its own beach. I am told that there is no such thing as a private beach in Costa Rica but where you own all the property that provided access to it, it amounts to the same thing. The beach is staffed by hotel employees who help you get comfortable under a sunshade if you prefer and bring food and drink as required. All very luxurious.
The site is shared by a Sloth Institute and a member of their staff gives guided walks the grounds to find and see the sloths. I went on one of these walks guided by Katy who was very knowledgeable and gave an interesting walk spotting sloths and explain their habits.
The resort is situated on a hill which, which is steep in places. There is a free shuttle bus that will take you anywhere on the resort but this will not remove the need to walk up or down some hills. For the young and fit this will not be a problem, just a bit of exercise but if you would like to stay at the Tulemar and think you will have a problem with the hills then telephone them as they have accommodations that are accessible.
All staff, drivers, receptionists, waiters were very helpful and contributed to a relaxed and enjoyable holiday.
Leaving the hotel after a week’s stay was like leaving friends and family. Staff turned up to say goodbye and it’s a big encouragement to return one day.response / report this review -

Beautiful place!!! Wonderful staff. A hidden gem! Sloths are everywhere, because the Sloth Institute is located on the property here. You have to be either staying there or invited specifically by guests in order to come here--it's private and there's lots of security. But it's super luxurious, with a FANTASTIC staff and paved paths/roads all throughout so you can get a ride to the beach and back up with no problem. Everything is taken care of. Also there are lots of GREAT walking/hiking paths on the property that I would highly recommend. Lookout spots with little stools and railings along the way where you can sit and view/take pictures. Definitely wear tennis shoes if you are going on the hikes. One of them has a gorgeous waterfall about halfway through! It takes you by surprise and is such a great little photo spot.

Just left today, our stay was verrrrrrry good!!!!!! Our concierge Mauricio was incredibly knowledgeable, available and went above and beyond for us. The accommodations were romantic and cozy. Loved it!!!

It's a great place to stay. To get around you need to use their shuttle. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice. Their beach is the highlight of the stay.

Buena Vista Villas is one of my favorite places in Manuel Antonio! It truly has it all within a 33-acre tropical rain forest reserve, full of wildlife. It's one of the few options in Manuel Antonio that has direct beach access from the property, which is worth the higher price-tag in itself. The accommodations, especially the Premium Villas are very well decorated and have all the comforts of home with the occasional monkey visitor on your balcony. There is a very delicious restaurant on the property that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also recommend tasting some of the local restaurants in Manuel Antonio, which can easily be done by 1) a rental car or 2) having the reception call a taxi to visit other dining options. My family spent a fair amount of time on the beach either enjoying the complimentary kayaks and boogie boards or sipping on yummy frozen cocktails. Overall, it's a home-run for families and small groups that want it all - beach, wildlife, rainforest, and high-end amenities. Theresa Parent, Central America Vacation.
