Really nice spot, good view. But.worn down place needs a lot of attention. Rooms are dusty and sheets are dirty. Electric shower is not acceptable anymore in 2018. The host lets you pay before showing you the room. Now I know why. not worth the money. New management could turn this place into a hidden gem.

Great location, beautiful rooms. Overlooks the lake, and is the habitat for lots of birds. I saw more birds here then at the hanging bridge. Worth a stay!!

The moment my boyfriend and I arrived at Toad Hall, I felt transported. Upon arriving, the owner (who was so friendly!) served us local cocktails, as we looked out on a breathtaking view of Laguna de Arenal to watch the sun set. Their outdoor restaurant/bar looks out on one of the most stunning views I've ever witnessed; if you aren't looking to spend the night, be sure to pop by for a meal to experience it. The lodging is small, intimate, and personal, with an outdoor pool. Every room has such authentic detail. We spent our days in La Fortuna, checking out restaurants and exploring the volcano, and the drive to and from was an exciting way to see the country. Also, after seeing the hotel options in La Fortuna area, none compared to this one's charm and personality. A true hidden gem. Highly recommend to people who are looking for a lodging that feels tucked away, personal, and has an authentic Costa Rican atmosphere.

The view is a good reason to walk in, the coffee was not (fresh pot was suggested) missing more attention to the small details

We just stopped in for a break from driving. The view is spectacular.
The prices were ridiculous. $10usd for 2 weak and watery smoothies.
    Very nice server.

Our family was traveling Costa Rica last spring and happened across Toad Hall. We stopped and had a long relaxing lunch at Toad Hall. The food was delicious great and in large portions. The manager was very nice. My only regret is waiting so long to provide my review. If traveling Costa Rica in the future we would not hesitate to plan an overnight stay at Toad Hall. (Ben & Molly)

Beautiful view of lake Arenal and the surrounding Jungle. Open feel with very clean facilities. The staff was friendly, the owner was from Texas. Get the fish tacos.

We left another place down the road because it wasnt what we expected when we booked it. We happened on this place driving by and couldn't be happier that we did. Beautiful setting. Wonderful staff go out of their way to make you comfortable and feel at home. Delicious meals, and if it's not on the menu, they will do their best to accommodate. Prices are more than reasonable, and the views are amazing. Highly recommend!

Paradise! The most amazing place I've ever stayed, it was truly perfect! This place has it all from the right atmosphere to amazing decor and staff. It's in the best possible place and is so peaceful amongst nature. It defines costa rica and definitely a hidden jem within. All the wild life we saw was definitely a bonus. A big thanks to all at the toad hall hotel you definitely made our trip, we're already planning our trip back!

DONT STAY HERE!! Worst hotel experience ever had! Customer service was horrible. Rooms were mediocre and when a kitchen doesn't have pots and pans and a non-working stove should not constitute a "fully stocked kitchen" as it says on their website.
