Cocoa tour and self guided walk were fun and the kids loved it all.
Good lunch. Gorgeous jungle setting.
Loved the cacao trek and chocolate tasting. Great guide. Thanks
Beautiful, filled with wildlife.
For $50 a day, with a big breakfast, this place is a steal. Rooms are in the forest with sounds , smells, and wildlife at your window. Staff was excellent. My bat tour guide jasmine was the best. I got to touch 3 bats. The chocolate tour was also muy bueno and included a short hike to some cocoa trees. Then a talk. Then crushing the fresh beans to make real fresh chocolate by drink and by candy with added vanilla sugar chili or nutmeg. The forest had 2 bridges that gave me a close up of a 5 foot iguana and a family of howler monkeys. Highly recommended lodge.
Cold showers lots of bugs but beautiful. The WiFi is good and the food as well. The beds are a little thin but not uncomfortable. It's a good idea to come for a day or two.
A jewel of Costa Rica. Amazing research going on here. Some of the projects rival those occurring on nearby La Selva.
Tirimbina Lodge is the hotel located at the Tirimbina Biological reserve. Our room had a double bed, a bunk bed, and a private bathroom. It was clean and adequate for our needs. There was a restaurant at the hotel and a path to the nature reserve, which had lots of hiking trails. The hotel gave several tours and seminars for an extra fee, all of which were excellent.
Great eco-lodge, comfortable, with amazing access to preserve trails and the river. Lots of things to do and a great staff. Not fancy food, but quiet and worth a visit.
Eco-minded lodge with tremendous biodiversity and excellent meals and guides. We want to go back!
