While pricey, the lodge is also unique in many ways. Waterfalls, hummingbirds, toucans, waterfall next to the tub and in the shower, fireplace, hammock, balcony hot tub

Magnificent!!!! Cancun or any other place can't even compare to the Peace Lodge in Costa Rica. The owner is to be commended that his design and thoughts connect to the one who created all things, who is God. This is a rainforest delight! Even the rain and thunderstorms are enjoyable. Before everyone leave this earth, get to the Peace Lodge in Costa Rica. Try to come here before age 60 so you can hike and go up and down numerous steps to get the full experience of the waterfalls, as well as the most beautiful greenery in the mountains. Unbelievable place!

If you are visiting Costa Rica you SHOULD stay a night at the Peace Lodge! It's only an hour from the airport and I think it's the only 5 star hotel in the area. It's the nicest place we've ever stayed, the room was amazing, awesome canopy beds, a (remote controlled) fireplace, a whole wall that can become a waterfall with the push of a button, ornate woodwork and custom made fixtures with a balcony that has a view of the currently erupting poas volcano, a jacuzzi, and a hammock. Every balcony has a big hummingbird feeder, they claim this place has 26 species of hummingbird, the most in one place anywhere in the world. They will feed right out of your hands, it's awesome, they are also flying all over the grounds. This place is much more than a hotel, they have an elaborate "campus" called La Paz Waterfall Gardens with fantastic hiking trails and flower gardens and 5 huge waterfalls. They also have some zoo like areas, we got to play with a baby jaguar, hold a hercules beetle, interact with just hatched butterflies. They've got monkeys and toucans, and more (everything is included with your stay). We ate at the on campus lunch buffet and it was amazing, tons of vegetarian options including lots of fresh fruit, rice and beans, and veges, all very good.

Waterfall showers. Tropical Jurassic park look alike. Comfortable and amazing. Lots of stairs and lots of hummingbirds. Good food but limited choices.

Beautiful place, a must see in Costa Rica. Right next to the La Paz waterfalls, exactly like what you would imagine - waterfalls in the Rainforest

Got ridiculous food poisoning that landed me in the hospital from the restaurant in here. Caused us to miss our flight back to the States. Avoid the food. The animals and gardens are great though.

We actually did the park tour. But the lodge is beautiful. Great rooms and bathrooms with hand crafted wooden and stone walls floors etc. The parks was amazing. Best Aviary I have ever seen. The butterfly exhibit was outstanding with hundreds of cocoons hatching live.
