Reinaldo was my tour guide I booked through Surcos Tours for an overnight in Corcovado National Park. He had an amazing wealth of information and a true passion for guiding, which showed through and caused me to have a great time.

We had an amazing time. The entire Surcos tour crew we met both before and during the tour, were incredible people and very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. My wife and I would highly recommend this Tour group, Corcovado, and surrounding area!! We saw tons of wildlife and had some great hikes- Pura vida!

We just come back from a 3 days hike from Corcovado with our guide Nito and everything was so wonderful!!!

From the start the experience with Surco Tour was professional and human. We started our adventure with them with Cynthia who was so helpfull and patient with us. We had many questions and she takes the time to answer everyone of them very quickly.
Two days before our meeting with our guide, our plane was delayed and we ask them to delay the tour at the very last minute. We call them on the weekend 15 minutes before they close to ask them to star the tour a day later. Even if they didn’t have the place for us, they managed to find us a guide! They even succeed to convince the park to dont charge us extra fees. They make all the last minute changes without charging us anything for all the troubles it gives them ( and they had just one day to make all the changes, on a Sunday!!!)

Then on the day of our arrival at Puerto Jiminez we met our guide Nito. He takes us on a long walk to show us animals at Puerto Jiminez, even if it wasn’t included in the tour! Then he arranges transportation for us to go to our AIRBNB far from their office and for the next morning as well.

At corcovado, everything was perfect!!! We see a lot of animals ( every species you wish to see when you go to Corcovado!!!!). The hike is just wonderful! Nito was the better guide ever! We feel he treated us like long time friends! He is a real living encyclopedia!!! Evan if he is a guide for years, he is so pationate about is work that we felt he was discovering te park for the first time with us! He seems to see every animals around us, even the small birds so high in the tree that you can’t see them with your bared eyes. When he hears a sound, he followed it and find the bird or animal at each time!! He is very generous of his time and knowledge! He is also a funny onebut I wont say more about it! Just ask for Nito to be your guide and you will have the time of your live!!!

Thanks Surcos Tour and Nito, we won’t ever forget you and the life time experience you give us!

Not very good you do not need a guide to do the 1 day tour to Corcovado for sure our guide didn't direct us around much, the tour office never told us how long the tour would be they just kept saying as long as you want it to be. Our guide did not communicate well with the tour office because when we met our guide in the morning he was asking us where are permit for entry to the park was and we didn't have it obviously because the tour office had it so we had to stop there I. The morning after we already woke up a time 6 am to leave which caused a half hour delay. Guide was not talkative I have no idea how this place got such a good reivew. Our guide didn't bring a camera or a tripod which all other guides did.

My boyfriend and I booked a 2-day trip in Corcovado starting at sirena station.

From beginning to end the customer service was on point. More than a month before the trip all of our many questions were answered promptly by our customer service rep through email.

Our experience during the trip was also amazing. We had Thomas as our guide and he was professional, personable and experienced--all the things you would want when you're in the jungle with someone for two days. During the two days we were able to see all the animals we wanted to see except for one. We saw many different species of birds, caymans, crocodile, squirrel monkey, howler monkey, spider monkey, peccaries, two whales on our way to the park, tapir! And a luckily a puma!!!

Thomas was really patient with us during the hikes and we were pleasantly surprised that he knew his fair share of animal sounds--the animals were even reposonding back to him. He was able to point out many things that we wouldn't been able to see without him.

The hike was not that difficult but we went mid August where it was muddy and some rain. We were comfortable in our hiking shoes but next time would probably even just wear hiking boots!

Booked a day trip to Corcovado - paid for here in Puerto Jimenez, but departing from Drake bay. The day trip was 80$ per person, which sounded expensive at first, but was easily the best activity of our time in Costa Rica.

Boat ride to the thickest part of the Corcovado reserve, 4h trek with a wonderful guide (Javier), lunch, boat ride back. In that short time, we managed to see a really astonishing number of different animals, far from the hordes of tourists.

    High recommended.

We booked in the day before for a 1 day trip to Corcavado by boat. What an adventure, an hour across the waves then into the jungle and every 5mins we were seeing something new with our great guide Javier. Organisation was well done and hassle free from the office in Puerto Jimenez and our start/finish in Drakes bay. Highly recommend.

My wife and I booked a three-day excursion with Surcos Tours through Corcovado Park and couldn’t be happier with our experience: they exceeded all expectations. I think with a trip like this there are a few major considerations: experience, expertise, safety and communication / preparation. On all fronts, Surcos did an incredible job. In evaluating our options, they were the stand-out option for us: competitive pricing, professionalism and communication. They made recommendations, gave us detailed information so we were making an informed decision and were clear on what to expect, what to bring and other trip planning deliverables. In terms of safety, the night before we left on our three-day hike, there had been days of heavy rains that had flooded key crossing points we were needing to wade through. Based on the information, we made some informed decisions heading out, and had no unpleasant or uncomfortable surprises along the way. Throughout the trip our incredible guide Oscar kept our safety top of mind, and that was really appreciated. In terms of his expertise, beyond taking care to watch out for us along the way, he had an unmatched knowledge of the routes, areas by day-part, animals, flora and fauna throughout the park: primary and secondary forest, as well as lowland tropical rain forests and beyond. He was able to locate animals by smell, was able to rattle off and hone in on tiny birds on-the-fly – we didn’t miss a thing. And it wasn’t a point-and-name game, he took time to explain the broader context of the thing we were examining and bring up fascinating information that really painted the broader picture of interdependency that makes a place so rich in biodiversity real and relevant to our experience in the park. In terms of overall experience, I can’t imagine beating Surcos Tours. From initial communication through to the experience, they have the guides and personnel, equipment, knowledge and relationships to bring your lofty expectations to life. Such was it so with us. We also appreciated their honesty and straightforwardness across the board, from the person coordinating our trip, Kathya, to our guide Oscar. They care about the Osa and everything in it, and you feel that in your journey. It was great to be around people who really care about what they do and where they live – that passion is the Surcos difference in our minds. So all this said: we highly recommend going with Surcos Tours.
