The sopa Azteca is seriously the best soup I have ever had Visited in 2010 and I'm STILL asking "Remember that soup in Costa Rica?" 😆 Yes, the food is expensive, but definitely worth it. Especially if you're staying at Costa Verde, which is a short walk away.

Having just arrived in Manuel Antonio we were looking for an easy spot for dinner. Across the street from our hotel was La Cantina. The service was terrific and the food and drinks were even better. It was a fun and relaxing meal with live music.

Ribs were lovely and tender. Prawns a little tasteless, but the catch of the day (mahimahi) was delish.

La Cantina was a great experience. They have an open kitchen and grill above wood fired grill. Everything is absolutely fresh and good quality. Service was efficiant and friendly. A bit pricy but you are in a tourist area.

Food was delicious. I ordered the Steak kabobs. The steak was tender and the sides was wonderful. It was a great meal after the day of hiking and swimming we had. I would recommend this place.

All of the restaurants in Costa Rica have been incredible for my entire trip here and this one is no exception. Amazing drinks, food, and appetizers. An all around fantastic dining experience. The decor is really wonderful as well. If you are lucky, you will see some monkeys climbing around in the treetops next to this hillside restaurant.

Very good place to eat wonderfull food.
The staff is caring and speaks good English.
Don't order a lot of food because they serve huge portions. We orderded the delicous Tropical Chicken Salad! One of the best salades ever and a lot too.
There was also a live band playing and doing cheerfull music to which some of the staff danced too :-)

fried flys, yum! Fried fly in wife's veggies, so we all add veggies fried with the fly on the grill. realized it far too late, about half way thru the food. We all lost appetite and stopped right there. Managed not to puke, just barely. Photo attached. They did comp the meal which was good, we didn't ask, but they did. Kinda scary the cooks don't notice fried flies on the grill or during plating. No bueno.
