One of your only options for food while waiting for your flight at LIR. I saw one other reviewer had the suggestion of keeping all your coin change from your trip and getting rid of it here, good idea. We had 2 personal pepperoni pizza's for $25. The place is pretty expensive even by airport standards and the food is below average. Avoid if you can.

Bought this pizza for my brother. Only took one bite of his pizza since I wanted to taste it. Felt completely sick on the entire plane ride. My brother (who ate the pizza) threw up on the plane. I’m writing this 7 hours after taking a bite and I still feel sick. I don’t know if it was bacteria on the pizza or just the artificial ingredients but it made me and my brother so sick.

Knowing that I will inevitability buy an overpriced water and feel as justifiably ripped off as all of the reviews here I am using the only tactic left in tourist arsenalALL OF THE CHANGE I HAVE PILED UP FOR THREE WEEKS. I have ¢17000 and will spend them all.

I encourage everyone to do the same moving forward. It makes buying $6 sodas way more enjoyable.

This place over charges in Dollars. The total in colonies was 10,000. They charged us $40 us gave us no change. The Hilton is in on it they only offer a shuttle for us at 6, befor the serve breakfast. They said it would be very busy and we had to be at airport by 6 for our 9 am flight.

Positive things first. Staff was friendly, and service was prompt. Fries were good. They had US college football on TV. No one rushed us as we had about an hour before our flight boarded. Other than that, the food was just ok and the prices were high. ($190 for five people or about $36 each for a burger, latte, and juice).

Avoid this place. Quality is basically the worst you’ll experience in Costa Rica. Prices are about 5x anywhere else in the country. If you’re going to make me listen to reggaeton music, at least provide wifi

Save your cash and avoid this place. I feel bad for the servers and bartenders here. Their tips have to suffer because the prices here are outrageous! If you want to pay over $100 for a bad sandwich and two rounds of drinks be my guest.

I rarely review restaurants unless they absolutely blow my mind (in a great way) or leave a foul taste in my mouth the latter sentiment being the case at hand.

My girlfriend and I are sitting here at Gate 3 of the Liberia Airport, waiting for our flight home, and after being treated very rudely by staff over at the "Players Bar & Grill" Restaurant on the second floor of the airport I have decided to put the establishment in the spotlight.

We arrived early because we are traveling internationally, and have three hours to kill. So, naturally we bee-lined straight to the nearest bar. As we approached we were greeted by a hostess who asked us where we would like to sit. My girlfriend suggested the crowded bar- I objected to sitting in a bar chair for the next three hours and proposed sitting at one of the open high-top tables along the back wall of the restaurant, offering comfortable, diner-esque booth seats, facing the in-coming diners, perfect for people-watching (my all time favorite past-time at the airport) as well as a prime view of the TV's, all set on various sports channels and the normal actions that ensue at the airport.

As we approached the precious high-top table we were blocked out by another one of the Player Restaurants' staff, who in a frenzy was trying to explain that he could not allow us to sit at one of the coveted high-top tables with the birds eye view, as they were reserved for groups of four although there were NONE in sight, and no line to be seated.

As I tried to negotiate with the server, explaining that we would be more than happy to move to another table if at some magical moment the other 90% of the empty restaurant tables were sudden seated- he rudely interjected offering no lee-way, and not offering any type of middle ground to accommodate us. I have worked in restaurants for the past ten years and understand the importance of keeping seating open especially for larger groups; however, when you have two customers thirsty for over-priced and under-poured cocktails, willing to pay the high-way robbery prices at the airport bar, for THREE hours-you facilitate the thirst!

Back to the story: When I pointed to a gentleman sitting alone at his computer at one of the tables reserved for tables of four, I was told that it was the owner. I am sitting here debating going over to speak to him about his set in stone seating policy, perhaps he would be more sensible than his staff however, as of now, I will not be spending the next three hours of my life drinking cocktails/beer and supporting that man's business.

The Players Bar & Grill Restaurant, located in the Liberia, Costa Rica Airport in front of Gate 4 is the Soup -Nazi of the Liberian Airport.

Absolute worst meal we've ever had. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

The hamburger isn't even beef, it's a soggy cardboard replica with old vegetables for $17!

My girlfriend got the margarita pizza, cold cheese, hard tomatoes and soggy crust for $15!

Couple this with a couple of sodas and this UNAPOLOGETICALLY DISGUSTING establishment ripped us off for $50!

Go to Quiznos or eat some $8 nuts from the Britts instead!

The staff was awesome during my visit, the food was terrible quality for the price. I am happy to pay $17 for a cheeseburger at an airport or in Las Vegas if the quality matches the price since that's how a market works, but Players Cafe food is really bad. The drinks were pretty good.

Total scam.
As other stores in the airport include tax in their prices, these people add it on top to the total of 23%. Also they run their own exchange rate 10% more expensive than the norm. Also they steal on the cocktails by not including alcohol.
Do not set step in there.

Rediculus! $5 for water bottle, $20 for 3 sorry looking tacos and $15 for a garden salad!
The bill has left me feeling ripped off. I asked the waiter who owns the place? And found out it a Polish people not even Costa Rican! Damn, being polish myself I'm mad as hell! Also, what's with all the clapping! Annoying!

The food was fine, but the most expensive food in the world! By far! We ordered four waters, and they brought us bottled water at $5 EACH! Slice of pizze, $10. Salad, $20. Simple burger, $20.

Go to Quiznos. Avoid this place.

I don't mind paying for airport prices but food sucks! menu is misleading showing fruits but is jam! Even the server agree that their food sucks! After I commented that it is too sweet pouring sirup all over the good crepe making it So sweet! Might as well just serve me a bag of sugar. buy what you can see first. If you think airport water at airport is Expensive?! Try to buy a bottle of water here US$5+ for a 500ml. Manager need to review the menu and be honest about what they serve. It is a tourist trap serving to hungry visitors going home. And to leave a BAD impression of the great people and country side we get to see and visit. Expensive at this ONLY airport food and drink place is an complement! MONOPOLY and lack of competition.
