Had dinner here and came back again.
Excellent pastas, we ordered 3 dishes and they could all compete with Italian restaurants anywhere. Pizzas were great too, crust was a bit thin for my taste like most places in CR but the toppings and combinations here are really creative and flavorful. Desserts were just as good - the deconstructed tiramisu was superb (biscuits were a bit dry but the mascarpone ice cream alone deserves 6 stars!)

Lovingly made, elegant food. My husband and I both got pizza from the “specialties” side of the menu, which I highly recommend. I had the lamb sausage and scallion pesto, which was brilliantly well balanced. I swore under my breath when I first tried the pesto, I was so impressed. My husband’s arugula and prosciutto was also excellent. Pizzas range from 5500 to 8000 colones (in April 2018). Dessert was very elegantly plated, as you can see.

Gigio and the whole team at Mamagui tend to every detail in their sumptuous creations and impeccable service. Guaranteed to be a great satisfying dinner, and many times there's excellent live music to boot. The cured fish plateau is unique and always pleases.

Cozy place with live music and cell cooked, genuine Italian food. There was a decent vegeterian selection and several dishes could be made vegeterian without issue. Loved it!

The food was very good. I would recommende the Tuna fettuccini. We sat outside and listen to the live music while eating. Service was great, welcoming, nice, helpful. The bartender (new addition there) was masteringg the mixology and created a delicious cocktail. The owner came out and inquired about our experience. We decided to return.

We had an absolutely AMAZING meal and evening at Mama Gui last night. It was our first time dining here and we will definitely be back many times to come! Thank you to Gigio Palazzo and all of his excellent staff for making our date night so memorable. You can see the true passion Gigio has for his restaurant, and he is a very professional chef. Every little detail is perfect, whether it's the flavors and the delicate plating of the food, or the welcoming decor of this very cute and comfortable little restaurant. We were also very impressed to see that instead of hiding in the kitchen like many chefs do, he was always out observing his guests and making sure that they were all happy and that they had everything that they need. He introduced himself to us as well and took the time to chat for a bit. There is a true sense of care and pride here and he clearly has put his heart and soul into his gem of a restaurant. The level of customer service from the rest of his staff members was also 5 star! Thank you again Gigio for a wonderful night and we will see you again soon!

The food is amazing and the service is really helpful and friendly. Coming to the restaurant design it's welcoming and everything fits together. The prices are a bit high but the food quality is worth it.

Tutto buonissimo. Pasta fatta in casa, cucina elaborata e curata al dettaglio. Prodotti locali uniti a una cucina italiana buona e di qualità. Un posto molto easy ma anche molto bello. Consigliato!
