What can I say about Café Mar Azul?…Yum is a word that I can use. The food here is simply amazing. The quality is top notch and the flavours are mouth watering. Try everything. The service is also amazing. Victor and his crew go out of their way to make you feel that you are part of the Café Mar Azul family. We ate both lunch and dinner's here (multiple times).
Weren’t very friendly and forthcoming to serve unfortunately. Very limited menu, not really heavy on healthy choices.
Best place , good people! 1 minute from the beach!!
Wow, truely delicious food! The staff are exceptionally warm and friendly. Victor made sure we were taken care of, while Jessy provided the entertainment. Thanks for the great food and laughs!
Just got back from lunch at Cafe Mar Azul. It had been highly recommended to us, but it even surpassed that. Great fresh, delicious food done to perfection. Don't miss it.
Amazing bananas 🍌 bread 🍞 and breakfast burritos 🌯
My family and I went down to Playa Grande for a little off-the-beaten-path scouting and came across this most excellent restaurant. Very impressive food atmosphere and service Jesse and Victor were great fun and made our visit a pleasure. After dinner took a little about 50 meters down the path and had a fantastic sunset on the beach. When we return, we’ll rent surfboards at the surf camp next door and spend the day. Can’t wait to visit again soon.
My family and I just arrived in Palm Beach Estates just up the road from Cafe Mar Azul and how lucky were we its so close to such a cool little restaurant with great, great food cooked to order. The tacos with scratch made corn tortillas are awesome. Fresh made lemonades, coffees, banana bread, chocolate chip pancakes, Costa Rican Breakfast, Acai Bowls and Peanut Butter fudge that melts in your mouth. The new owner since June 2017, Victor, is a really nice guy and very helpful with local advice too. We'll be eating there just about everyday.
We were introduced to Cafe Mar Azul by a family friend (Marco Sanchez, Amigo Realty) on our first morning in Playa Grande. We ate there every morning of our trip but two. One morning we were driving to the Cloud Forest and stopped at a Soda a long the road. The second time was because we decided we should give another place a try. This is an open air restaurant with extremely friendly and attentive service. Its not fast as everything is cooked to order, but the setting is very relaxing and there is a family of howler monkeys in the trees. We were introduced to Lizano & Chilero salsa to top our wonderful chorizo with egg and gallo pinto burritos. The Costa Rican coffee is amazingly smooth. They also have a selection of smoothies and "fancy" coffees. I was able to make myself branch out and push new boundaries with the breakfast tacos. The tortillas were hand made from corn flour. They were thicker than I am used to, but amazing. I highly recommend Cafe Mar Azul and Costa Rica in general!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
