We had a great expirence at hotel luamey great clean rooms with lovely terrace the location is perfect very close to everything and very quiet and relax admosphere we had an amazing service snd we enjoy having dinner at the barefoot restaurant .definately we recomend this lovely hotel and hope to come back soon

- The room was swarming with ants. I would guess we killed at least 40.
- There was noisy construction on a room above us, which continued WELL AFTER MIDNIGHT. We were unable to get much sleep.
- The bathroom does not have a proper door - there are two swinging doors that don't cover the height of the room, so it is basically open to the main room (no privacy). Additionally, there was no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so taking a shower caused water to track all over the bathroom and rest of the room.
- Their internet was down, so WiFi didn't work, and neither did their hotel software / reservation systems.
- The front door is difficult to lock / unlock (you have to really push on it when turning the key). Even when closed / locked, there is a sizable gap (I assume this is how the ants get in)
- Reception desk has only one person (Marcella) with normal working hours (9-6 or so). Outside of those hours, there is nobody available to contact.

Beautiful spot, great services, extremely clean. Offers yoga, surf classes, drone photos. Home away from home in the best beach in Costa Rica.

Really great find in the heart of Tamarindo. My husband and I arrived in Tamarindo after a long day of driving and we had not really decided where to stay. We checked out several hotels in the tourist area by the beach and this one was by far the best. Amandina was so sweet and helpful

We stayed in the pool view room and we really enjoyed it. Breakfast was amazing each morning and it was served on our patio. This hotel is steps away from all the restaurants and the beach. The room was very comfortable

This hotel was a bit hard to find because it does not have a physical address you can type into the gps. We had to park our car and find the hotel on foot. The hotel is in a alleyway right off the main strip.

This place is truly great!!!!

The reviews I read and the blogs were absolutely correct. This hotel is a real gem in the middle of what could be a real tourist area with all the trappings, thereof. Great hospitality, very clean rooms, lots of good restaurants close at hand, a couple of blocks from a white sand beach, wonderful, warm pool, breakfast served on the lanai.what's not to like. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

I got a recommendation from friends and following TripAdviser reviews I decided to stay in Luamey Boutique Hotel. That was the best decision I could have made. The hotel is walking distance to the beach where you can surf and have fun with the family.
We originally planned to stay in Tamarindo for 5 days and then travel to other places in Costa Rica to do some activities like watch tortoises laying eggs, do Zip Line (Canopi), walk over hanging bridges, watch animals on their natural habitat, ride ATVs, horseback riding, etc. But guess what. all this can be done near Tamarindo and Luamey personally took care of organizing all those activities for me and my family.
We eventually decided to stay on Luamey for 11 days!! Amazing!!!
The service is excellent. You get to have breakfast with your family in your own balcony (or patio) and the owners Myriam and Luis are always available to give advice and the activities to do.
You can start the day having a Yoga session in the garden on the weekend and have Surfing lessons with an experienced instructor you can trust your kids with.
In the evenings we were sitting on the Bar with other guests (from around the world) having some exotic drinks. From special Mojitos to great Ron and Scotch.

I recommend you to include Tamarindo as a destination in Costa Rica and stay in Luamey Boutique Hotel for an unforgettable vacation.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Luamey for 4 nights while visiting Tamarindo. And let me just say, this place and the people were the best part of the trip. The owners are a warm and smart and hilarious couple who treated the both of us as if we were an extension of their beautiful family. Hotel Luamey offers boutique amenities, family hospitality and a location that's far from the noise but close to the action you seek while vacationing.
