Great resort away from the hustle and bustle of the city. 20 minute drive to La Fortuna. You definitely feel like you are staying in the jungle. The view of Arenal Volcano just steps away from our bed and on to the patio is next to none. The soothing sounds of the jungle make it very relaxing. You may even here a monkey call or two! Definitely recommend staying at this resort. The staff are very accommodating and the amenities such as there pool, hot tub and pool bar make this place a one stop shop for all your relaxing needs!

The Lost Iguana far exceeded our expectations (which were high to begin with). We were greeting with free tropical juice and excellent coffee in the lobby. The staff is friendly and helpful and helped us book a tour. The location is conveniently close to La Fortuna and was easy to navigate to get to tours. We stayed in the king suite on the second level and had an outstanding view of the jungle and Arenal volcano. The facilities were clean and modern. The activities on site (2 km hike, pool with swim up bar, etc.) were nice additions. The food was excellent and the large complimentary breakfast each morning was fantastic. Would come again in a heartbeat!

Paradise, no other Word to describe it. My flight was delayed and added an extra layover. They were nice enough to give the keys to the security guard, so I could show up at any time and still walk right into my room. The next day, it only got better. The people at reception, the restaurant, the shop and the bar were extremely nice. As if they all knew what I had gone through the night before. The trails, the bar, the tours. It is all part of a magnificent, magical time to enjoy. I cannot wait to come back!!

This place was amazing. If ur looking for a secluded hotel, the Lost Iguana is it. There was so many animals and reptiles right on the grounds. The volcano can be seen from pretty much anywhere on property.

About a 2.5 - 3 hour shuttle/taxi drive from Liberia. The hotel had a balcony that has a great view of the trees. You get a great view of the volcano and rainforest. There is a fun trail around the property where you will see all sorts of animals. The rooms are very extravagant. The food is amazing. Don't forget to tip the workers.

Lost Iguana is beautifully sited on a hillside, completely away from any roads or development, beautifully landscaped with jungle foliage and blossoming trees and plants, and many birds and animals come by for close-up views. The rooms have great views of the volcano and are comfortable and include AC. Some rooms have had recent upgrades and are gorgeously decorated and appointed. The grounds are wonderful to walk around, and the 2-level free-form pool was beautifully situated and landscaped - the top pool being very warm and lovely for after-hike relaxing, and had a swim up bar. Even when it was raining, walking around and just sitting was a relaxing and beautiful experience here. Pricing was very reasonable. We stayed here without a rental car; while Lost Iguana is a 20 minute cab ride to town, our tours picked us up here, and we could walk to beautiful Mistico Hanging Bridges Park (and L.Iguana provided free van pickup). We felt little need to hassle with taxis, travel and crowds to go into town for dinner or other activities, as dinners at the Lost Iguana was an easy walk, and food was good (but nothing special). The dining room was open air with beautiful jungle landscaping all around, magical lighting, very romantic. Highly recommended.

Lost Iguana was a magical paradise set in the rainforest with outstanding views of the Arenal volcano. The food was delicious, heated pool, great atmosphere and QUIET. A great place to decompress and find some peace. We will be back!

The place is great and calm. The staff from reception and restaurant are very friendly. The food (breakfast and diner) were excellent as well.
If you want to travel around it is better to have a car otherwise you are stuck at that place. Overall a very good hotel to stay and relax.

My family and I were here two weeks ago and had a good time. It probably isn't the most luxurious hotel in the Arenal area, but it's removed from the main La Fortuna road which is very developed and it's surrounded by rainforest so if you want authenticity or wildlife viewing this is the place. Breakfast buffet was very good, two pools (one of them heated with a swim up bar), and my wife said the spa was fantastic.

The views were amazing from every spot on the resort! The water temp in the showers were a little all over the place but your the most part super satisfied. Be sure to hike the trails at the top of the property as well. Not super hard but definitely work the walk.

Loved it! After arriving at the SJO airport, we rented a car through Adobe (also recommended!) & drove to the La Fortuna area. Though winding & hilly, the drive was fine & even a little fun (stopped for snacks once & coffee/bathroom another). Arrived at Lost Iguana after dark, but the always friendly, always helpful staff was ready for us. Enjoyed our complimentary drink, received a short brief then went to our rooms to unpack & relax before dinner (requires reservation, which the front desk made for us). Dinner was delicious - special shout-out to Luis! *Property is spread out & steep, so you'll definitely feel it, but they have a shuttle available if you want/need it.* There are activities available through the front desk or you can book them yourself. They also provide transportation to the activities, but we just drove ourselves since we rented the car. *Weather is what it is, so some days the view was fog, clouds & rain, but when clear the view of the volcano & surrounding jungle was awesome!* No issues whatsoever with the rooms, facilities, etc. Anything you want or need is a phone call to the front desk away. Highly, highly recommend!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Lost Iguana Resort and absolutely loved it! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the resort even has it's own short hiking trail. The heated pool with a swim up bar is great for unwinding after a long day exploring the Arenal area. Our room was huge and included a canopy bed (which my wife loved!) Our room came equipped with a huge deck with an amazing view of the volcano and even an outdoor hot tub (would definitely recommend spending the extra money for the hot tub. You can even see the volcano while resting in the tub!) We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Lost Iguana and would definitely recommend the resort to anyone traveling to the Arenal area!

Had an incredible stay here. Beautiful rainforest, full of toucans, Passerini's tanagers, blue-gray tanagers, coatis, hummingbirds Charming and well-maintained grounds. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Activities such as ziplines and river safaris are nearby; tours will pick you up right at the lodge. Breakfast is free and contains a delicious assortment of local samples and fruits. A great place to stay.

A beautiful resort tucked into the forest. I loved every minute we were here. The setting was amazing with tons of birds and animals all over the place. The grounds were well kept and the staff was great. I was equally impressed with the restaurant, which was quite good and I was happy to eat there for both nights that we stayed. This is good since you're quite a bit away from other places and if you have no car, this is the only restaurant available.

The spa is nice and open air, which leads to it's downfall if the weather isn't perfect. We had great massages in their couples room, but nearly froze because of how cold it was outside.

I'd be happy to return in the future.
